tidy medium paced bowler, Ashish Patel is somewhat of an oddity in
the Canadian team, hailing from Quebec. Given an oportunity for
the national team after the unavilability of a number of players
for the 2001-02 Americas Cup, he took 7 wickets at an average of
15 in the tournament, bowling particularly well against the USA.
He followed this up with a strong showing in the 6 Nations
Challenge in Namibia, dismissing Tikolo and Odumbe against Kenya;
and taking 3 wickets against Namibia.
