Khosa alleges CS involved in pre-poll rigging

The PML-N Punjab President Sardar Zulfiqar Khan Khosa has alleged that Chief Secretary Punjab is involved in pre-poll rigging as he, IGP and Home Secretary are visiting different districts and compelling people to join PML (QA) and Millat Party.

Talking about PML-N alliance in DG Khan District, he said his party had made an agreement with Maqsood Leghari. He said adjustment could not be made with MMA because they were demanding PP-244 DG Khan City seat and offered to withdraw from NA-172 in return. "We never lost this seat, so there is no possibility of this adjustment," he said.

To a question, he said Maqsood Leghari never joined PML (QA) and always contested elections as an independent candidate.

He said Maqsood Leghari was the front man of Farooq Leghari and Farooq personally did not know enough people to win election.

He said both PP-246 and PP-245 were Maqsood's seats. He joined PML-N under the family pressure. The alliance would benefit both the parties. He alleged Jamal Leghari was using government resources to run his father's election campaign. He himself went to submit the nomination papers of his father and was addressing his public gatherings and campaigning along with him. "We have pictures of his activities. We would have welcomed him if he was doing this as a son, but he was doing this as District Nazim DG Khan," said khosa.

He said despite Chief Election Commissioner's instructions, Jamal Leghari was awarding tenders of development project to oblige certain people.

Khosa said Amjed Khosa was contesting election on NA-171, and Leghari also manipulated the delimitation of the constituencies and managed to divide the majority of Khosa tribe in small groups for the coming elections.

Maulana Abdul Sattar Taunsvi has already announced his support to Amjed Khosa as Amjed has worked hard in Taunsa area and got sanctioned a number of water supply schemes for the city and its suburbs during the last PML (N) government besides constructing a network of roads. He said the JI was a part of MMA, and MMA had announced electoral adjustment with PML (N).

Aurengzeb Khan (PP-240) was the MMA. candidate. "We know this is JUI area so our candidate voluntarily withdrew, but now they are making unreasonable demands.

Khosa alleged, "Chief Secretary called Khwaja Sheraz, Meer Badshah Khan Qaisrani and Fateh Mohammad Buzdar and compelled them to contest election on PML (QA) ticket against their party affiliations."

He said in NA-173 Awais Khan Leghari, Hussain Khan Leghari (Ind), Irfanullah Khan Khosa (PPP) and Maulvi Raheem (MMA) were contesting elections.

To defeat Leghari jointly with PML (N) and other parties was the main target of PPP, but they would fail to achieve this goal as they had nominated candidates in every constituency. Irfanullah joined PPP only for getting a ticket. "Although he is my cousin, but I will never go to him and request him to withdraw in favour of Hussain Leghari. To contest election is his right," he said. Irfanullah Khosa will only harm Awais Khosa because he will get PPP vote and the advantage will ultimately be passed on to the PML (N) candidate, he said. "Our target is to ensure victory of PML (N) candidates all over the province and for this purpose we are making adjustments with MMA in about 22 districts, besides allowing our local offices to make adjustments," Khosa said.

He said "We are against all the government-sponsored candidates." About the situation in Rajanpur district, Khosa said the sudden death of Vice President PML (N) Punjab, Sardar Javed Khan Gorchani had caused a great damage to the party.
