- Tegan
and Sara's fifth album 'The Con', the follow up to their
2004 set 'So Jealous', is
scheduled to be released on the 24th of July. The sibling
duo collaborated with Jason McGerr of Death Cab for Cutie,
Matt Sharp of The Rentals, and Hunter Burgan of AFI on the
album.
- The
'Spider-Man 3' soundtrack, due on the 1st of May, will
feature songs by Snow Patrol, the Killers, the Yeah Yeah
Yeahs, Wolfmother, and Jet, along with a track by Jason
Schwartzman and Kirsten Dunst (recording as Coconut
Records). Snow Patrol's 'Signal Fire' will be the first
single taken off the set.

Seattle's Spectrum Dance Theater has turned Nirvana's 1991
album 'Nevermind' into a dance based show, choreographed
by Donald Byrd (who has previously worked on the Broadway
productions of 'The Color Purple'). Dancers David Alewine
and Allison Keppel will be representing Kurt
Cobain and Courtney Love, although the show is not
biographical.
- Former
Sugababes singer Mutya Buena will release her first solo
album, 'Real Girl', in June. The record will include 'Out
Of Control (Song For Mutya)' - her collaboration with
Groove Armada, and the track 'Real Girl' which samples
Lenny Kravitz' 1991 hit 'It Ain't Over Til It's Over'. A
duet with Amy Winehouse is also expected to appear on the
album.
- Ashlee
Simpson has collaborated with The Cure's Robert Smith on
her as-yet-untitled new album, and is also working with
John Legend, Keane's Tim Rice-Oxley, and The Neptunes'
Chad Hugo.
- Rancid
are working on the follow up to their album
'Indestructible' which came out in 2003. And frontman Tim
Armstrong's debut solo album 'A Poet's Life' will be out
on the 21st of May; the album is no longer expected to be
released as a free download as originally announced.
- The
members of pop-rock band Rung have decided to part ways.
The group released one album, 'Green', which spawned
videos for 'Hum Na', 'Meri Duniya' and 'Koi Janay Na', and
the band members are now working on various solo projects
following Rung's disbandment.
