Our
hotstepper this week is the talented Zeeshan Parwez, more popularly
known as the Zeeshan of 'Sajid and Zeeshan.' He started his career
as a music producer and came up with Sajid and Zeeshan's first album
One Light Year At Snail Speed. An MBA holder by education and music
producer by profession, he couldn't help staying away from direction.
But Zeeshan knew there was more to direction than a video with storylines
and emotions. He has changed the scope of videos in Pakistan by introducing
animation while keeping those emotions in the songs alive. He has
recently created a claymation video for Ali Azmat's 'Gallan'. 'Gallan'
is the first video from Ali's album Klashinfolk and features the band
members who worked with him on the album, namely Omran Shafique, Gumby
and Mannu.
Though the whole video is not claymation, but a major part of it is
a mixture of organic clay plus aluminum foil animation. Keep an eye
out for the climax sequence featuring a giant ant battling with a
praying mantis! 'Gallan' comes as a breath of fresh air in the industry,
and this is why Zeeshan Parwez is our hotstepper for this week! |
