WHO Sahar Atif
WHAT Flowing long kameez
WHERE , PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week
It's a question that has plagued journalists, designers and brides-to-be
preparing truck loads of their trousseau: when will the hemlines
go up? It seems that as long as the economy is heading downwards,
so is the length. International runways trend reports for the Fall
have confirmed with long trench coats, high waisted pants, skirts
and dresses that the long lengths are to stay. In this side of
the region ofcourse the lengths will be translated into the trailing
kameez masquerading as a ball gown. But whose complaining? The
glib fabric manufacturers are ecstatic, aunties with ample bosoms
and behinds are happy, and the girls get the princess look and
flutter around with a flounce. Sahar Atif's Grecian gown look scored
high at the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week earlier in the year with
its whimsical feel, as sheer ensembles glided one after the other
on the ramp and soared high with critics and audiences alike. So
and get those angharkhas and handkerchief kameezes made for Eid
without any apprehensions. Long, it appears, is beautiful.

To cut it longer...
Michael Kors makes the strongest statement for length this Fall
by pairing a long trench coat with high waisted pants.
New kid on the block, Syed Rizwanullah's masterpiece at the Fashion
Pakistan Week 2, uses the ample length to sketch his intricate
Islamic architecture theme.

For the ultimate Fall look, Richard Chai Love uses a very 1980's
midnight blue cardigan with long tapering sleeves and nude silk
culottes. A great blend of trends and textures that makes a unique
fall statement.
