FASHION UPDATE
Welcome back to retro winter
|
| |
| The
retro look is back, thanks to films like Om Shanti Om and Khoya Khoya
Chand, and even to singers like Amy Winehouse who have revived the
trend of heavy eye liner. And before you step out to pick up new stuff,
take a good look through your own wardrobe first. Remember those tight
leggings and jeans you stashed away when wide pants were the only
trousers you wanted to be seen in? Well now try layering a long, chunky,
colorful sweater belted at the waist over a pair of those black leggings.
Finish the look with ballerina pumps (available at all local shoe
stores now) and tie it all together with bold jewelry. So grab those
fitted jeans with bit of stretch in them and pair them of with a cute
plaid blazer and neutral camisole top. Skinny jeans are back still
in style as are high bolero inspired jackets. And a quick trip to
Crossroads or Mantra will fix your wardrobe woes as well as give you
a high with retail therapy. |

| Retro
details are showing up in formal wear as well. Go for sequins instead
of traditional embroidery and don't be afraid to introduce a little
bling to your style file. As always, strappy stilettos are a better
bet over court shoes. It's always good to show off those red toes
when you're partying around the town. Popular colors for winter footwear
include wearable neutrals like black, dark brown and even navy blue.
It's good to see people experimenting with winterwear in Pakistan,
braving sexy boots as well as warm woolly hats and caps. But no matter
what the trends are for winter, it's important to choose apparel that
makes you feel good when you're wearing it. The perfect outfit can
make you sparkle with the confidence and charisma that comes with
knowing you look great! |
