Kamiar
Rokni has arrived and how! After the Karma split became the talk of
the town, Maheen Kardar and Saad Ali went about consolidating their
label and Kamiar (Kami for those who know him well) was the one starting
from square one again. A flurry of questions started doing the rounds
of the fashion circuit: Does he have business sense? Will he be able
to handle retail? Where will he stock? Kamiar's future became the
topic of much debate and discussion. The talk must have hurt, but
fashion insiders knew that Kami's future in fashion could never be
in doubt - he is too talented for that.
Joining hands with his cousin Tia, Kami has struck out on his own.
His new ready to wear collection is selling like hotcakes at The Boulevard
in Lahore and his aesthetic is perfect for his clothes to fly off
the racks in Karachi too where he is stocking at the prestigious multi-label
retail store Ensemble. |

Launched
in true style by Zeba Hussain and her daughter Shehrnaz at the stores
swanky premises, Kamiar Rokni is a welcome addition to the store.
And Kami is more than capable of holding his own alongside Indian
fashion giants like Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahiliani and Ritu Kumar and
their Pakistani counterparts like fashion icons Faiza Samee and Shamaeel
and the cutting edge Sadaf Malaterre.
So here's Instep saying: 'Welcome Kami!' at the top of our lungs.
You become a hotstepper when you follow your heart, but put your money
where your mouth is and give it your all. And Kamiar Rokni has done
