Acts Of
Faith
Author:

'I t's
lack of faith that makes people afraid of meeting
challenges, and I believe in myself...' Muhamad Ali.
When
I saw this book I felt curious and when I read it, I found
it to be a striking combination of idealism and realism
concocted into an absorbing tale.
The book
starts off with three characters: Timothy, a Christian
child, an orphan, who lives with his uncle and aunt and is
treated miserably until he finds peace and love in serving
the Church. Deborah, the daughter of Rav Luria, a staunch
Jewish rabbi, is a girl who is being trained to be a
'perfect wife', but she has other plans. Danniel is the
rabbi's only son and is destined to follow in his father's
footsteps. In school he is teased by his classmates and
ends up in resenting his father and breaking his heart. It
all starts when Timothy breaks Rav Luria's window one day,
and from then on, Deborah's and Tim's paths are destined
to cross.
The
author, Erich Segal, has written this book over a span of
four years, and has given the reader an insight into two
great religions of the world: Christianity and Judaism.
The story gives us a flavour of different cultures,
ranging from Brooklyn to Rome and Israel, and takes us
from a church to a synagogue, all in a single ride. The
author's description often becomes ironic. He also shows
us where man stands in the face of destiny. The whole
angle of the story keeps changing at the end of almost
every chapter, making the reader spellbound, yet Erich
Segal seems predictable in his own way. Honestly, I could
not put the book down till I'd read it from cover to
cover, and I suggest that you give it a try. It's a good
read!

Game

Jaws Unleashed
Platform:
Playstation 2, X-box
Category:
Action

Majesco Games

After
several years of development, Jaws, the game is finally
here. Majesco Games have outdone themselves by providing a
game which has a lot of missions and a free roam mode.
In this
game you play the role of Jaws, an over grown shark which
is stronger and smarter than anything below the surface of
the sea. You can apply its strength and intellect for
tearing people apart, destroying coast buildings, killing
innocent children swimming etc. The game basically
provides a storyline in which you are supposed to stop the
mayor from destroying the ocean by stopping him from
dumping chemicals into the sea and using various
underwater machines. This noble purpose can be achieved by
killing countless men, women and children. If you don't
want to follow the main storyline, which is full of
missions such as killing people at a beach party and
destroying refineries, then you can always enjoy the free
roam feature. In the free roam mode you can do almost
anything as long as it is restricted to the sea and the
beach. To be more precise, you can jump on beaches and eat
people! Knock over boats and kill their passengers, drag a
helpless swimmer along the surface of the water by
grabbing him\her from the legs and holding them up high as
blood splatters everywhere etc. There are also the side
quests which people can do, like killing bungee jumpers in
a limited time period by jumping out of the water as they
fall into your mouth.
Jaws is
a fun game that allows players to bite off peoples' legs
or arms and watch them struggle to swim away from the huge
shark as they bleed to death (yes, I am a sadistic
person). In short, Jaws Unleashed is a must have game,
however, watching the shark eating so much might make you
hungry.
