Ashrita Furman of the U.S. holds a tiger on a leash, at the start of a world record attempt. Furman, 53, officially won a place in the Guinness Book of World Records on Sunday by skipping 5 km (3.1 miles) in 35 minutes and 19 seconds at Tiger Temple in Kanchanaburi province, Bangkok. To make the attempt more interesting, Furman skipped the first 100m and 75m of the last 100m holding the tiger.
