wouldn't see Prince Charming slipping one of these on Cinderella's
feet but sure enough, the latest trend in footwear has reared an 'ugly'
head. Every action is followed by a reaction and every fashion movement
is followed by a counter movement. Subsequently, after years of celebrating
the stiletto, designers around the world are playing the devil's advocate
by introducing horrendously shaped shoes on international catwalks.
As if Uggs weren't bad enough! But now is the time to take a chill
pill. This trend gives one great creative license. For once, you can
guarantee being extremely cool by wearing shoes that you felt would
be appropriate for nothing but the bin. Get away with the chunkiest
platforms or the most angular wedges - you'll be making a great statement.
You can even get away by standing on a block of wood and tying ribbon
around your ankles. This is your best chance to run away with your
creativity. But beware, your shoes may be ugly but they must not be
boring. After all, you don't want your feet looking like your grandmother's!
