Celebrity playlist this week
From world fusion to the soundtrack of Slumdog Millionaire, the playlist this week is as eclectic as our celebrities. Instep lends an ear...

Nadia Hussain Model/Actress
"Anything and everything that is playing on radio these days. I don't really get much time to prepare a playlist and listen to my favourite songs but yes there is 'Infinity' by Guru Josh that is my hot favourite. It's a new song that just gets you instantly. Besides that, I enjoy all the latest stuff that is on air on radio."

Guru Josh, whose real name is Paul Walden, was an original music icon of the British post- acid house music scene in 1990. He is most recognised for his debut single 'Infinity', initially released in 1989 and later re released in 1990. In 2008, the same song has been remixed for re-release. And this remixed version seems to have made its way to Nadia's playlist this time around!

Omar Bilal Akhtar Musician (Aunty Disco Project)

"I'm listening to the RocknRolla soundtrack. It is intense, really incredible and it's a combination of hardcore punk and rock – tough as nails! I've been listening to it everyday for the past ten days before I go to work. Its fantastic and you must download it!
I'm also listening to the Shall We Dance soundtrack for tango music and Buena Vista Social Club, which is Brazilian samba."

RocknRolla was directed and written by Guy Ritchie last year. The film's soundtrack features music by The Clash, Lou Reed, The Sonics and Black Strobes among others. Buena Vista Social Club is an album made by Juan de Marcos González and American guitarist Ry Cooder with Cuban musicians. The album started a craze in the Western World for Latin American music, particularly Cuban music.

Munib Nawaz Designer

"I'm listening to the Chand Taara Orchestra these days. Babar Sheikh has been talking about it for two years. It's world fusion music, totally my type with a desi flavor to it though it isn't typically desi. And apart from that, I'm back to listening to Sting - keeping it soft for a change."

The Chand Taara Orchestra produce desi funk mixed with fusion with three-band members - Babar Sheikh, Rizwan and Geln John. And we all have heard of Sting - the winner of sixteen Grammy Awards and an Oscar nominee for Best Song. Sting has so far produced a huge number of hits including 'Desert Rose', 'Shape Of My Heart', 'Spread a Little Happiness' and 'Fragile' among many others.

"It's a pretty tough question. I am listening to a lot of good tracks these days. But yes if you want me to be specific then A.R. Rahman is in my playlist these days. I simply loved the soundtrack of Slumdog Millionaire and my favourite is 'Jai Ho'. Besides, Slumdog's soundtrack there is another song, 'Jiya Se Jiya', and that is a Rahman production as well. I watched 'Jiya Se Jiya' on TV, grabbed it and now I play is constantly in my car. It's an absolutely amazing song!"

'Jai Ho', sung by Sukhwinder Singh, is from Slumdog Millionaire, for which Rahman won a Golden Globe and is nominated for an Oscar. Rumour has it that Sukhwinder and A.R.Rahman will be performing the track at the Academy Awards on February 22.
