Yet another case of plagiarism!
Dear Editor,
I liked seeing The Seven Habits of
Highly Effective Teenagers reviewed in the magazine (as
much as I loved seeing Anne of Green Gables reviewed
some time back, by the way :P), but the cover story
about it was just the first chapter of the book copied
word-to-word apart from the first and last paragraph,
with the phrase "my book" changed to "my
article" (e.g. "I have written this article to
give you hope.") What on earth was Waleed Arshad
thinking when he "wrote" that article?! I
seriously want to know how he thought he could pass all
that off as his own words. (And no, I’m not running a
plagiarism-detecting company here; it’s just a matter
of chance: P).
I loved seeing Farah Tiwana back with
another story; I wished this one had been longer. Write
more, please! I also liked seeing Faiza Hameed back in
action. Keep it coming.
Now that I’m mentioning comebacks,
it’s good to see Nabeel’s sports-writing centre
activated once again: P

Our regrets! Which class is Waleed
in? Class VI or VII! Anyway, he, too, is history as far
as we are concerned.

AoA Ed!
I grabbed some time from my hectic
routine and went through my favourite Us the same day it
came. It was great as usual. First of all, I read ‘Trust
Us’ and the letters. Momina Iftikhar’s letter amused
me, while the cover story was hilarious! The tips given
in it were quite similar to the ones given by Faiz Hasan
Saiyal in his book ‘The Way to Success’. I am
grateful to Waleed Arshad for summarizing the book and
to S. Hamza Asad for the book review. The last part of
Ayesha Abu Bakar’s poem touched my heart.
Ed, I always look forward to read
your editorials but you mostly skip them. Yeh achee baat
nahi hai . . . I want to congratulate Saba Fatima Ali
for her write-up ‘The Fear of the Unknown’. It was
well written!
Wishing you all the best and waiting
to see your chit chat next week!

Hi Ed,
The issue of January 29, 2010 was
really good. The articles were well-written and
interesting. The cover story ‘The Seven Habits of
Highly Effective Teens’ was really appealing. Keep up
the good work!

Hey Ed,
I love your mag more than any other
mag. It rocks! This is the first time I am sending you a
letter, so don’t disappoint me! The cover story ‘The
7 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers’ (January 29,
2010) was totally awesome. You should bring back the
poster page and put the posters of pop stars like Selena
Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Ashley Tisdale, Brenda Song, Emily
Osment, Demi Lovato, Debby Ryan or Kristen Stewart or
singers like JoJo.

Dear Editor
Your magazine is great. I was pleased
to see my letter in print, but was heartbroken
after going through the ‘Poets’ Corner’ and
not seeing my poem in it. Why didn’t you print my
poem? Please print it in the next issue...

Dear Ed,
This is the second time I’m writing
to you. The issue of January 29, 2010 was fantastic. The
cover story written by Waleed Arshad was very
interesting. The story ‘Evening shadows’ was just
fabulous! I loved it. The ‘Poets’ Corner’ was cute
like ever. Ed, I request you to remove ‘The Green Room’!
It’s just a waste of a precious page of the already
thin mag. We read a lot about music, movies etc.,
everywhere. We know about Hollywood movies and heroes,
but sadly we don’t know much about our real heroes. I
think there should be something informative about our
real heroes like Iqbal, Quaid-e-Azam, Tipu Sultan etc.,
instead of Hollywood actors. And lastly, I want to see a
poster of Allama Iqbal with his soul touching poetry!
Best wishes for Us magazine.

Where is Chachi?
Hello Ed,
Before I comment on anything, where
is Chachi? As expected, the issue of January 15 was
good. The most sensational part of your mag was the
cover story ‘Sands of time’ as the writer explained
the evolution and types of calendars very
comprehensively. In the end, I request you to kindly
increase the number of pages.
