Narrated Abu Huraira (R.A):

I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day would you notice any dirt on him?" They said, "Not a trace of dirt would be left." The Prophet (PBUH) added, "That is the example of the five prayers with which Allah blots out (annuls) evil deeds."

Dearest Editor,

The last two issues of Us were great. The hallmark of the issue of February 5 was Saad Javed's write-up. Reading it was nothing less than a pleasure and his style is lovely. The cover story on phobias was well written, too. In February 12 issue, the cover story was rather OK. There was no flow in the description/narration and it lacked humour. The 'Poets' Corner' had a couple of exceptional poems, especially "Winter like silence". 'Chachi Chatter' was abso-freaking-lutely amazing! I loved Chachi's story. Now I am digging for the past issues to got hold of her previous columns. Luavut's article was pretty cool, too. Keep it up, you all!

Yo Ed,

I've been a silent reader of your mag and have been reading it for ages and I love it. The issue of February 12 contained some rocking articles. I just loved Luavut Zahid's 'Of guys, gals and teddy bears' and the cover story of Iqra Asad was pretty cool. 'Chachi Chatters' was awesome! All I want to say is keep rocking.

Mushy, but fun!

Hey, Ed!

I have just one thing to say to Faiqah Mumtaz: hey, what the hell has happened? Part II was so totally boring! I mean, all you told us in it was that the guy and Sasha went off to some recruitment agency, she applied for a college but failed, and the guy told her she ought to consider a career as a musician. That's it, and you wasted a whole page! And I'd been waiting so anxiously for Part II, because I simply adored Part I!

Yo, Ed, the rest of the mag was mushy, but fun. I loved the article about drama queens, and yeah, I hate soap operas too! I immensely enjoyed the cutely hilarious illustrations throughout the issue, and the anime girl in "Of guys, gals, and teddy bears!" was so cute and original! Hats off to the illustrator, seriously.

And I hate Rihanna, so thanks for printing her poster - now I can tell my friends she wears duck-fluff down her front. The whole issue was great, and Part II of the lyricist story is forgivable, I guess, because Part I was awesome. I want better stuff in Part III, Faiqah!

An Afghan girl writes…

Hey Ed,

Well, it is my first letter to your mag and I am kind of confused about where to start it from. I am an Afghan girl, and am not one of the regular readers of Us, but these days my Pakistani mum is sending the editions. I have started to read all articles of Us as being a medical student, I hardly get time to read any reading material other than our text books. Now I am regularly reading Us and at times I can't help myself keeping away from it. Us really rocks! Ed, I have a request: please include a section for horoscope because I m a crazy reader of it. All my good wishes for Us.

Days' phobia!

Dear Editor!

First of all I am really thankful to you for printing my e-mail. The issue of February 5 was really fantastic. The cover story was really beautiful and the most interesting phobia mentioned in it was the "Testo Phobia"! The story written by Faiqah Mumtaz was too boring and the 'Heart-to-Heart Article' was just okay.

There is one thing I want to ask. Why do we celebrate Valentine's Day? The entire year is beautiful for those who love someone. Why 14 February specifically? The reason being that we are now becoming the victim of "Days Phobia" like Mothers' Day, Fathers' Day, Teachers' Day and many more. If we want to, we can wish our dear ones any time, any day and any moment. No need of specific days for it. Readers, kindly give it a deep thought and try to come out from the circle of these so-called "Days' Phobia". Good luck for Us.

What say you, Nabeel?

Dear Editor,

I am a new reader. More than anything, I loved Ayesha Younis's artwork, 'Corridor' (February 5, 2010). Reading Saad Javed's article was such a great feeling! His article was really nice and he should keep writing such lovely stuff. We really miss him when he's busy with exams or other stuff. However, it was a bit disappointing to see just a one-page article on Kashmir yet Qainaf Najam did a good job with it.

I think it would be futile to ask you about the story writing competition. It has almost been half a year now. Any updates? Also, how come Nabeel Naqvi only writes about sports? There are many TV channels available, in case he does not know? Nabeel try something other than ESPN!

Finally, the cover design of this issue was well-made. I applaud your designing team, whose efforts usually go unnoticed.
