is probably the most famous 19-year-old on the face of the earth these
days. You know you are a hotstepper when people set up fake profiles
claiming they are you on Facebook and then information from there
gets quoted around the world till it's confirmed that they're a hoax.
There is a photo call attended by most of the British Press just days
before you begin university. Intellectuals are analyzing your future
and passing judgments on what it will hold, while girls are proclaiming
undying love for you on blogs all over the internet.
Both Urdu and English newspapers in Pakistan run your picture on their
front page. There is no denying the fact that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari
is a sensation the likes of which Pakistan hasn't seen before. His
mother was as prolific as the teenaged daughter of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto,
but it is Bilawal who has been born into a media driven world and
who has become a household name.
We've seen him, we've felt for him and no matter what one says about
the nature of dynastic politics, the drama of the Bhutto dynasty has
Pakistan in its thrall... and whether we admit it or not, the fact
remains we are riveted...
