The VIBE

'Masjid-o-Mandir' by the band Hijr

Anita Saleem: Recently, I spotted a video 'Masjid-o-Mandir' by Hijr on music channels. The music is very soothing, considering the hard-rock trend that reigns in our country. If you prefer glitz, then this video is certainly not for you. But if you appreciate good music and congruency of theme in the song and video then this video is a must watch for you. It shows the band members walking around different places (streets, food stalls, marketplace, temple, mosque) among the common people. It focuses on a culture that does truly prevail in the country, but which we rarely get to see on TV.  Way to go, Hijr!

Akash's Top 5 Videos

Akash vocalist Sam shares with Us his favourite videos:

- FIVE: Green Day – Wake Me Up When September Ends

This is an excellent video. I really love the concept of the video and the camera work.

-  FOUR: Audioslave – Be Yourself

In my opinion, 'Be Yourself' is the best performance video I've ever seen. They used a simple room very wisely and there is so much energy in the performance of the band.

- THREE: Avril Lavigne – Complicated

'Complicated' is a nice video with a teenage look. This was Avril's first video and now I'm a huge fan of her. The video is very simple and colourful.

-  TWO: Puddle Of Mudd – She Hates Me

The best thing about this video is the expressions of every actor they used. The video is very well executed.

- ONE: Daughtry – It's Not Over

'It's Not Over' is a great song. The video is also amazing – the performance and the concept both match with each other.
