Hotstepper of the week
JAWED SHEIKH

Jawed Sheikh is Bollywood's Daddy Cool. He has played father to Shahrukh Khan in the magnum opus Om Shanti Om as well as to other actors like Shahid Kapoor, Preity Zinta and Upen Patel.

When he's not playing Dad, Jawed Sheikh is working on his own film. Now six years after his hit flick, Yeh Dil Aapka Huwa, the actor-director is back with another project, Khulay Aasman Kay Neechay.

The film, which is slated to release on July 4, is already gaining momentum.

KAKN has a massive star that consists of Meera, Humayun Saeed, Sana, Saleem Sheikh, Nadeem, Badar Khalil, Behroze Sabswari and his son Sheroze Sabswari.

Jawed Sheikh is making sure that the film not only releases in Pakistan but is also taking it out to India and by doing so, is giving our actors a bigger platform.

To make sure that audiences head out to see the film in Pakistan, Jawed requested the Ministry of Culture and Information, to ensure a gap of at least a week between the release of Indian and Pakistani movies.

The film has a budget of 1.5 million dollars and has been shot in Australia, India, UAE and Pakistan.
Using his own experience of working in India, Jawed has incorporated the techniques in his own film as well. From website to ringtones and music, these little marketing gimmicks that are used across the border as well as internationally, are still alien to our film business.

But with Jawed at the helm of this film, these gimmicks have now found their way in Pakistan.
Whether it is playing uber-bad don in Jannat and doing a fantastic job or using his knowledge to providing a platform to local talent, Jawed Sheikh is making all the right moves. And for that he is Instep's hotstepper of the week.
