- Jake Gyllenhaal will star in the movie adaptation of the video game 'Prince of Persia: The Sand of Times'. The film revolves around Dartan, a Prince in the 6th Century Persia who must stop a treacherous nobleman from obtaining the Sands of Time, which would allow anyone to rule the world.

- John Cusack (1408) will star in the end-of-the-world flick '2012'. The film will centre on a researcher who finds a portal to a parallel universe and goes into that world to contact his double to warn him and try to prevent the upcoming apocalypse that the ancient Mayans predicted. The film will be directed by Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, 10,000 B.C.)

- The US Government supplied three Marine Harriers and their pilots for a fee of $100,736 ($2,410 per hour).

- Jamie Lee Curtis did the helicopter stunt on her birthday.

- After Harry and Helen Tasker escape from Samir, Helen says 'I married Rambo!' Director James Cameron helped write 'Rambo: First Blood Part II'.

- In an interview, James Cameron says that the script was brought to him by Arnold Schwarzenegger who said that he wanted to do it because he thought the Tasker character was interesting. Cameron was shocked because he had never seen Schwarzenegger pick a script based solely on his interest in a character and decided that he saw the same thing and made the movie.

- Received his name 'Jackie' from fellow workers on a construction site in Canberra, Australia who couldn't pronounce his real name. 

- Cleverly utilises everyday items as props in fight scenes (chairs, tables, ladders etc).  

- Likes to give 'thumbs up'. 

- Mostly does his own stunts. 

- Prefers to do action films with strong humour streaks and physical clowning.
