Hotsteppers
of the week
Barry, Omar, Sara and Aslam of Wow Factor

Rapidly
emerging as the hottest new event managers in Karachi, the team
at Wow Factor are hotsteppers this week for putting up a brilliant
debut show for Nida Azwer. From the carefully crafted origami birds
on the ceiling - depicting flights of fantasy - to the revolving
stage that featured mirrors, blown up props and the classic straight
runway, it all looked very slick. Nida Azwer arrived with this show
and it wouldn't be wrong to say that Wow Factor has arrived too.
The company is two years old - their first event being the launch
of Revived: The Journey Within at the Commune, but this is their
breakthrough. Wow Factor is a fairly new event management company
operating with equal input from four partners: |
| Omar Omari,
Sara Chhapra, Barry and Aslam Khan. And instead of just putting
an event together, the strength of their events has been design
perspective. Each and every one of their shows - whether it
was the launch of Revived and Skin (both at the Commune), Raw
Life at the Indus Valley School or the recently held Nida Azwer
show - has been aesthetical brilliance. They have been incorporating
a lot of contemporary art installations, lending events a very
fresh perspective compared to what one has become accustomed
to seeing. And they have been working on a wide range of shows,
from book launches, fashion events and even the launch of a
TV channel. One truly does think that Wow Factor have the wow
factor to taken event management to the next level in Pakistan.
They are looking into setting up a PR department, which will
make them even more desirable to clients wanting to get maximum
mileage from a professional enterprise. One hopes to see more
groundbreaking work from them in the near future. But right
now, they are hotsteppers for what they have done for Nida Azwer's
debut show. |
