Afridi remains one of the most exciting players in cricket
today. A batsman, leg spinner and a fabulous fielder, he is
one of the strongest all-rounders Pakistan cricket has in
the team. In the wake of the Pakistan-Australia series, Shahid
Afridi clinched victory for Pakistan from Australia. Not only
did he swing 24 runs off 16 balls but he stunned Australians
with his bowling. Picking up 6 wickets in just the first one-day
international, Afridi gave Pakistan just the boost they needed.
It remains to be seen if Pakistan will manage to win this
5-ODI series but on the first match, it was Afridi's sportsmanship
that made us so proud. He is an unpredictable player and his
dismissal of Australian cricketers was enough to make one
realise that the Pakistan Cricket Team, despite all criticism,
still has enough firepower left to beat a giant team like
Australia.
