Stepping
out in style for fashion |
| |
Society
dressed to the nines and came out to witness the Ensemble show, the
first whirlwind fashion event in recent memory.
It was an eclectic mix of casual chic and formal dresses that walked
the red carpet. The point of a fashion evening is to put your best
foot forward out there and it was incredible to see the stylish face
of Pakistan, grooving to the beat as five designers put out a visual
feast. |

| Atiya
Khan |
 |
Atiya
Khan wore torn jeans to the event that could have had us reeling
in horror, but she did look super stylish thanks to the kaftan
she had thrown on top. It's her own design and you can get
them from Labels. Just throw one on with a pair of killer
heels and you can go from casual to semi formal in a flash!
Perfect strategy for the busy modern woman! |

| Nadia
|
 |
Nadia,
a banker from England, who was here on a holiday, showed how
to carry off a Deepak Perwani strapless gown from the grey,
blue and silver collection he showed at Rehana Saigol's show
last year. This is how to carry of gowns… with your
personality and not with oodles of jewellery that is an unforgivable
overkill. |

| Frieha
Altaf
|
 |
Frieha
was looking great that night. In baby pink dress and a grey
evening coat, both by Sana Safinaz, she cut an elegant figure.
Looking rather pretty with an updo and her trademark fringe
framing her face, it was a change from Frieha's normally edgy
and adventurous fashion sense, and we loved it! Classic looks
like this are for all time. |

| Aaminah
Haq |
 |
Trust
Aaminah Haq to make a style statement few others can think
of! She got away with wearing a pure white cotton tee shirt
to the glitzy event… thanks to the shimmering 'look
at me' pants designed by Sadaf Malaterre. With nude make up
and a free swing in her stride, Aaminah showed that La Haq
is back in action in the most nonchalant, uncontrived way. |

| Fareshteh
Aslam |
 |
Fareshteh
Aslam of Unilever went for a Kamiar Rokni ensemble that he
had showed at his first show in Karachi last year. It's a
timeless piece that will never get dated. The top is ultra
feminine, the dark capris give it an edge and the strong embroidery
brings it all together boldly. Plus, apart from being beautiful,
the outfit is also practical; definitely a smart and sensible
choice for a woman who was working all night. |

| Tariq
Amin |
 |
Tariq
Amin wore Sanam Agha. The worked collars added that something
extra to classic white lifting it to a fashion statement.
Most men wouldn't be comfortable wearing this (read: most
men are boring dressers) but when it comes to Tariq, this
was a rather sedate fashion choice. And the man was busy backstage
too, making all the models look beautiful. |

| Maheen
Khan |
 |
Maheen
Khan won the award for most stylishly dressed woman of the
evening and that didn't come as a surprise. She is the epitome
of how to age gracefully while looking like a knock out. You
shouldn't try to hide your age, just embrace it. In loose
white with that perfectly coiffed ultra short silver hair,
Maheen proves that age ain't nothing but a number. |

| Fayezah
Ansari |
 |
Fayezah
Ansari walked the red carpet in a Teejay's ensemble. Designed
by Feeha Jamshed, this is the new face of the brand that
was all the rage in the '80s. With a contemporary outlook
on prêt and dressing, Feeha has definitely streamlined
it to the '90s. This one gets a two thumbs up from us!

| Nini
Rafi |
 |
Nini
Rafi may have been working the red carpet for Geo, but that
didn't stop her from making a statement. Wearing a blingy
Rizwan Beyg creation that made an impact while allowing
her to move around, she carried off the funk very well with
her updo. We love that easy smile made brighter by deep
red lips.
