Hotsteppers of the week
Josh

Qurram and Rup of Josh are considered a part of the local music industry even though they live in Canada. It isn't just because they have consistently visited Pakistan or have released their albums here. It is also because these guys always provide support to the music industry despite escalating political tensions.

"When people say that Pakistan is dangerous, we only tell them to come visit this place once because it is fantastic," said Qurram while speaking with Instep.

When Josh performed at the MTV Music Awards, they dedicated the song to Ali Azmat (whose mother had passed away the same day) and acknowledged acts like Strings, Jal, Noori and Fuzon to name a few.

While presenting the award for Best Breakthrough, both Qurram and Rup spoke about the struggle that artistes go through to make it as musicians within an industry.

At the press conference of Coke Studio - Josh are a part of the line-up this year - both Qurram and Rup were all praises for the musicians of Pakistan.

"I love Saeen Zahoor. He is amazing. He is 72 and he is still going so strong. I was blown away when I saw the Coke Studio house band jam," said Rup.

Whether it is Coke Studio or awards shows or concerts, these guys not only make fabulous music but it's the spirit with which they support Pakistan and the industry that inspires us to call them one of our own.

For always having faith in the musicians of Pakistan and making funky tunes, Josh are this week's hotsteppers.
