How to do your makeup this summer
|
| |
| It
is always advisable to use as little make-up in summer as possible,
so as to avoid the embarrassment of melting away and leave people
wondering as to why your skin is the blend of two shades rather than
one. Keep make-up light and it will keep you looking fresh. Here are
a few steps on how to look good in the heat, without having to worry
about the make-up meltdown! |
| |
Facial
make-up: The first step towards carrying make-up off in the
scorching sun is to wet your face before you apply face powder.
Either wet the brush or touch your face up with tap water
before you apply face powder. The second step is to let the
powder dry off completely before you step out. Girls usually
do this so as to avoid the meltdown; many avoid face powder
in the summer but you need not do that anymore, simply follow
this quick step and your makeup will stay in place for the
next few hours. You can play with blush on this summer –
keep the powder light and apply an ample amount of blush –
blush on never melts away and could be the best substitute
to heavy facial makeup. Choose peachy blush shades this summer
to give your skin an even and delicate look.
Eye make-up: As for the eyes, this summer, avoid colour -
no blue and pink eye shades please. Stick to liquid eyeliner
(the waterproof variety) or an eye shadow close to your skin
tone. Forget pencils and kajal. This is because in the summer,
eye pencils tend to spread around the eyes in a way that isn't,
well, appealing. The same is true for kajal - the heat melts
it away and causes the kajal to outline the layer below the
eyes, causing dark circles. |
 |
|
| So
ladies, no eye pencils, at least for now. Also avoid mascara if you're
out in the heat - it has the same after effects as kajal or pencil
eyeliners. A good option is to go for clear mascara as opposed to
black. |

| Lip
shades: Lip glosses and lipsticks this summer should be of a very
toned down shade - do not follow bridal shoots since those shades
are meant for brides only and you need not try to copy their blue
eye shadow, red lipstick and bright pink blush! Keep it subtle and
toned down. Even tones of lip colours, like neutral browns and light
peaches are this summer's statements - your lawn can be bright orange
and shocking pink, but the makeup has to stay as light as possible!
To play safe, stick to Luscious' lip-gloss or Body Shop's lip balm.
