 Often described as the new Vinnie, model Rabia Butt is getting set to skyrocket out of Pakistan and onto the global modeling scene. And she's just taken off with her appearance on the cover of Vixen, a Norwegian magazine. The cover shot is accompanied with an eight-page spread in the issue which features Fayeza Ansari and Vaneeza Ahmed as well. Rabia, who recently signed up with Idol Looks, a modelling agency based abroad looks absolutely stunning on the cover of Vixen, as do Fayeza and Vaneeza. And while models from the subcontinent have occasionally made it big abroad - there hasn't been a prominent Pakistani name out in eons. And one hopes Rabia Butt - who won an LSA award for Best Emerging Talent in 2008 - will be the one to take that mantle forward. As fashion begins to make its inroads abroad with designers showing at locales from Milan to Miami and Delhi to Dubai, it is essential that models also make their mark felt abroad. And the Vixen cover - and its accompanying shoot, published in a country with the largest Pakistani expat community - will definitely be the first stone for the upcoming modeling stars that are Fayeza and Rabia. |
