CEO of Fashion Pakistan - the Karachi-based fashion council - is
our hotstepper of the week, as if there could be any doubt. Yes,
Fashion Pakistan had formed years ago and had planned all kinds
of things, but they really seem to have taken off this past year
since Ayesha Tammy Haq has taken on the job. It has paid off to
have an outsider (albeit a very fashion savvy one) at the helm.
Since taking over as CEO of the council, Tammy, who is known for
her talk show 24/7, has worked to make the oft-delayed and much-talked
about fashion week take place. And how: against all odds, the event
went off rather smoothly and garnered huge amounts of press coverage
abroad; as images of Pakistani models wearing the best of Pakistani
fashion made it to every renowned publication in the world. She's
truly raised the bar for councils and one can't wait to see what
Fashion Pakistan has in store for us now, with Instep's hotstepper
