Military chic

As the country wages a war against militants in South Waziristan, and news reports of terrorist attacks become an almost daily occurance, the current mood in the air has translated to fashion as well. Fashion Pakistan Week had a number of collections drawn from the same mood. After all, with patriotic spirit on a high and a defiant spirit, military chic (always a popular favourite) has come to Pakistan as well.
Acclaimed menswear designer Ismail Farid's collection titled 'Salute' was inspired by the military as well as a tribute to those who have lost their lives in terrorist attacks. The collection – which received resounding applause at the show – featured jackets, tailored shirts and accessories all inspired by soldiers.

Feeha Jamshed for Teejays brought her own love for the country to the forefront, in this grey uniform inspired outfit at Fashion Pakistan Week.

Madonna caused quite a stir in 2008 when she wore these Chanel gun-boots which are a statement in themselves...the fact that the Material Girl wore them was just another coup altogether!

Spice Girl turned celebrity wife turned fashion designer Victoria Beckham was spotted in this gunmetal grey outfit at the airport.

Nomi Ansari's show featured inspired caps paired with gothic chic ensembles.
