As the country wages a war against militants in South Waziristan,
and news reports of terrorist attacks become an almost daily occurance,
the current mood in the air has translated to fashion as well. Fashion
Pakistan Week had a number of collections drawn from the same mood.
After all, with patriotic spirit on a high and a defiant spirit,
military chic (always a popular favourite) has come to Pakistan
as well.
Acclaimed menswear designer Ismail Farid's collection titled 'Salute'
was inspired by the military as well as a tribute to those who have
lost their lives in terrorist attacks. The collection – which
received resounding applause at the show – featured jackets,
tailored shirts and accessories all inspired by soldiers.
