Who: Sadaf Malaterre
WHAT: Designer
WHERE: Ensemble launch, Lahore

Mystique of the orient has always found its way to world fashion, whether in the dramatic colouring of an eye, much like Kabuki art or whether inspiring multiple folds in a skirt devoted to origami. Whether it's a kimono sleeve or the ancient art of paper folding, the Orient and specifically Japan has kept its influence strong. With the increasingly high potential of Japan as a new and flourishing retail market, that influence has found new wings and designers world wide have been re-introducing motifs and design concepts that would appeal to a wealthy Japanese buyer. Here avant garde Pakistani designer Sadaf Malaterre wears a kimono cut handkerchief dress that has made several red carpet appearances on women who find it irresistible.
