Glossy grooves, eclectic beats and impressive collaborations
French DJ David Guetta's latest album, One Love, stays true to dance club culture and attracts global attention with musical guests Kelly Rowland, Akon, Will.I.Am, Ne-Yo, and Black Eyed Peas among many others.

Artist: David Guetta
Album: One Love*****
It's almost impossible not to have heard David Guetta's One Love. It's all over the airwaves and CDs are flying off the shelves. Who'd have thought that this French DJ would collaborate with the likes of Kelly Rowland, Akon, Will.I.Am, Ne-Yo, and Black Eyed Peas, all in one album? But he did and without losing his game and that's keeping the dance floor feel alive.
Guetta is adventurous on this record. He fuses sounds from the pulsating dance floor, between house music and R&B with vigorous strokes. These tracks are seamless mixes considering the amount of cross-over involved. And it's not just the sounds that are coming together, but the artists as well. One Love is all about collaborations and the first (and most probably the best one) is one with Kelly Rowland.

'When Love Takes Over' was the first track released from the album and was a joint effort between Guetta and Kelly Rowland. Guetta met Rowland in 2008 and immediately began to work on 'When Love Takes Over'. Upon hearing the track, Rowland was moved to tears, "I felt so much emotion from the track; something happened the first time I heard it, and it was just beautiful". The ex-Destiny's Child singer then worked on lyrics for the track and the two artists started work on the collaboration. The track itself has echoes of trance, house, R&B and even disco at times but through all of that it is neither European nor American in its beats, something that both Guetta and Rowland worked hard to achieve; making Rowland acceptable in Europe and ultimately Guetta more acceptable in the US.
'Sexy Bitch' featuring Akon is cheesy, addictive synth-pop and it's just a lot of fun with the chorus bouncing off the wall of sound. This track proves that Guetta is all about fusion, about blending two completely different worlds; that of contemporary chart music along with the music of progressive house, trance, et al. Also, Guetta brings Akon to another level, instead of that annoying Akon song beat that we're used to hearing, Guetta brings things up a notch and kills that all too familiar annoying sound. Perhaps Akon has learned a thing or two from Guetta…

The latest single from the album 'One Love' features Grammy Award-winning British, R&B, singer-songwriter, rapper, and producer Estelle. Again, the track starts off very much like a progressive house or trance song but travels into a much more amalgamated place rather than just those two sounds. Estelle, being a producer herself, brings much more to the Guetta sound. Her influence is clearly heard in this track which is set to be another chart topper.

David Guetta's One Love is clearly one of the best albums of 2009. To say that it is a must-have would is an understatement. If there's one reason to buy One Love then it's just the fact that this is a fun and lively album and makes for easy listening. It is suited for those long drives to the beach on the weekends or a dance party of your own. This record will surely get people up on their feet.
