Sloganstatements

WWHONatasha saleem
WHAT VJ

Tired of explaining your political views to everyone? Wear them instead: a t-shirt says a thousand words and these celebrities have definitely proved that to be the case.
Natasha Saleem wears a t-shirt by Uth Oye!, the ‘social design’ line that launched in Karachi earlier this month and sold out within a day. The slogan itself is an insider joke known in media circles, and is definitely a must-have: ‘Dilawar ki shadi pe kardiye hazaaron phool nichawar/ Cameraman Faraz ke saath Jiyo News, Peshawar’
Wear your slogan on your sleeve
Dino wears a t-shirt with a Tapu
Javeri photograph on it, from the Tapu Tees line done in collaboration with Maheen’s Gulabo.

Tired of the petrol crisis? Wear your angst out like Sadia in Uth Oye’s ‘Till Debt Do Us Part’ t-shirt.
It’s not a t-shirt, but this Obama dress by Jean Charles was definitely a hit when it debuted at New York Fashion Week in September 2008.

In an ironic twist of fate, Imran Khan wore the ‘International Terrorist’ t-shirt on November 26, 2008, the night of the Mumbai attacks. The t-shirt became the focus of a Washington Post article in the days following the attack.

For the launch of his politically charged 2008 album, Qismat Apney Haath Mein, Shehzad Roy wore a t-shirt with the fitting slogan: ‘Ignorance is bliss – Why aren’t you happy?’
