Narrated Abu Huraira (RA):

Allah's Apostle (PBUH) said, "The younger person should greet the older one, and the walking person should greet the sitting one, and the small number of persons should greet the large number of persons."

Letters

That's the spirit!

Dear Ed,

I have noticed many improvements in your magazine and it's becoming interesting once again. I really enjoyed the issue of November 6, 2009, especially 'Graffiti' and 'Humour' sections. 'Poets' Corner' was also very nice. Guru is doing a great job as well. Ed, I have sent you my poems, but you never published them. It's okay, anyway. I'll keep on trying and I'm sure I will see my name in print one day.

In the end I want to ask one thing. What kind of art work you accept for your art corner? And what should be the size of the paintings and where should we send these paintings?

Anza Abbas Hassan, Rawalpindi

We accept every kind of art work which is good. If you are sending Us a hard copy, make sure that it's on A4 size paper. However, we prefer scanned version of your art work. Our email address is us.mag@thenews.com.pk.

Bring them back!

Dear Ed,

I have been a silent reader of your mag for many years. I was really sorry to hear about Harris Malik's death. I liked his poems very much. May his soul rest in peace.

Coming to the mag, I like Us a lot. Everything in the mag is going great these days. 'Graffiti' has improved a lot and 'The Green Room' has become one of my favourite sections. I am glad you restored the 'Trust Us' page. I request you to please stop printing 'In Your Aangan'. I never liked it. The cover stories are good, too. I liked the cover story 'Most haunted places in the world' by Rabia Tanvir. 'Poets' Corner' is going wonderful as always.

I wanted to ask you where is Saad Javed? I love his work, but apparently he is on a hiatus these days, as I haven't seen anything written by him for a long time and I am furious! Bring him back and soon! And please restart printing the posters. That's one feature of your mag that I liked the most. I think some one thousand people have asked you to start printing posters again, but you just ignore them. It seems it's just useless to ask you to restart the section again! Anyway, keep up the good work!

What to do?

Hello Ed,

I am one of your greatest fans and I love your mag a lot regardless of the fact that this is my second letter to you guys and you have always disappointed me. Well, I want to say that the 'Trust Us' section is going great and Guru is simply fantastic!

Ed, I want to send you some articles of mine but I don't know where to send them. Please print my mail...

Maryam

You can send your

articles @ us.mag@thenews.

Suggestions

Hi Eddie,

Us mag is doing a fantabulous job!!! I really like your mag. All sections are good. Ed, why don't you start a section about informative websites? This would help us a lot in many ways. I also request you to start a section on novels because I really like novels. I think you will like my suggestions for your mag.

Shafaq Naz

You can read about various interesting and useful websites in our section 'Cyberia'.

We are flattered :/

Hi Ed,

The cover story 'The Ancient Eight' (October 16, 2009) made me write to Us. It was a great effort by the writer because this information related to foreign universities can help the youth of our country in many ways. Us is a great forum for young people and is very informative and educative. I must congratulate the team of Us magazine. It is not only a magazine, but a treasure of knowledge for all.

Arifa Muhib, Gilgit

I don't like it!

Dear Ed!

The cover story 'The most haunted places in the world' by Rabia Tanvir was useless. Pakistan is going through a pretty tough time, so we need revolutionary reading material. We need to talk about current affairs, not haunted houses or Ivy League colleges. We need to regain our identity.

Zainab Khan, Islamabad
