On
the fringe |

With the onset of the fall season, a number of current fashion trends
and classic winter favourites should be making their way back to your
closet! One of these is the 'fringe'. Fringe detailing is back - and
made an appearance on celebrities and at recent Fashion Weeks alike.
Fringe has been spotted on everything from bags to heels to boots
to coats. While fringe often reminds one of stereotypical cowboy attire,
it can be worn with great style. Restrict your fringe fetish to one
item of clothing/ accessory only to avoid overkill. For accessories,
think fringed headbands or bracelets. Incorporate the trend in outfits
by embellishing fringe on shirtsleeves or hemlines. For those living
in colder climes, fringed boots are quite becoming to be worn in the
winter with jeans and a basic sweater. Designer brands have even teamed
up fringe with other fashion trends like gladiator sandals. Fringe
has always been a part of the classic fall wardrobe in our part of
the world, given the tassels on pashmina shawls, and its time to think
beyond just that! Age-old trends like fringe and lace have both come
back into vogue this season, so when shopping, think hippie '70s and
rock and roll with a modern twist. After all, these are economically
trying times, so this seems like a perfect way to stay minimalist
while adding a touch of flamboyance to jazz up your wardrobe. |
