Best of Justin Timberlake
American pop singer, dancer, music producer and actor, Justin Timberlake
is the most successful solo artist in the world since Michael Jackson.
One first saw Justin in N' Sync, a boy band which made it big by
producing hit numbers like 'It's Gonna Be Me', 'Bye Bye' and 'Girlfriend'
but little did one know that the band's break up would result in
the rise of Justin as one of the most prolific musicians of all
times. So here then we give you some of Justin's best tunes to date…
'Like I Love You'
'Like I Love You' was premiered on the 2002 MTV Music Video Awards
and was the very first song from Justin's debut album, Justified.
'Like I Love You' is all about Justin praising his lady love's looks
but mind you, it isn't cheesy at all. The track starts off with
the sound of a guitar and picks up pace within seconds, making one
want to get up and shake a leg or two, but that's Justin for you.
He can make one sway, dance or simply sit on the couch and relax
as his music varies from mellow tracks to hip beats. And this one
is all about the beat.
This track was a huge hit and still is due to its catchy hooks and
sexy vocals that are worth all the applause.
'Like I Love You' is a sparse dance track produced by The Neptunes
and as it reached number eleven on the Billboard Top 100. Downloading
this one is mandatory!
Cry Me A River'
'Cry Me A River' was released immediately after Timberlake and Britney
Spears called it quits, after being in a relationship for years.
Rumour has it that Britney cheated on the singer, and many said
the video of 'Cry Me A River' showcased the singer as heartbroken
and bitter, ready to take revenge.
The lyrics of 'Cry Me A River' backed this fact. One hears Timberlake
say: "You took a chance/ Made other plans/Now it's your turn
to cry/So cry me a river". Even the model in the video was
a Britney look alike.
'Cry Me A River' featured the famous music producer Timbaland, who
raps his way through the song, with Justin taking lead vocals.
The track kicks off with Timbaland's voice but the rhythm of this
tune is a lot slower and haunting. With studio effects in full motion,
it is an incredibly powerful tune.
'I'm
Lovin' It'
Released in 2003, this track was produced by The Neptunes and was
used as theme for McDonald's advertising campaign, which was also
titled 'I'm Lovin' it'. This track was released as a limited single
in the UK, it charted outside the Top 75, peaking at number 79.
This deal with McDonald's earned Timberlake six million dollars
and the song was heard all over the radio stations and on television
screens.
Also, there is a remix of the song on the promo single that is 3:54
long and features Snoop Dogg as a counterpart of Justin's cameo
in 'Signs', another dance number which consecutively made it to
the top of the charts.
'I'm Lovin' It' is the kind of track one would to listen to again
and again but there comes a time when you want nothing to do with
it. However, this song was critically acclaimed and is worth downloading,
especially if you're a die hard Timberlake fan.
'Sexy
Back'
The first song of Justin's second solo album, Future Sex/Love Sounds,
'Sexy Back' did not only make it to the top of the Billboard Hot
100 for seven weeks but is played at parties and clubs to this date.
This lead single was first performed by Timberlake in the 2006 MTV
Music Video Awards and reached the television soon after.
One of Timberlake's studio representative described 'Sexy Back'
as a song "all about sexiness" and "aiming for an
adult feel". 'Sexy Back' brought a new Justin Timberlake into
the picture. His boyish image with gelled hair was replaced by a
promising musician who had matured up. Immediately after the release
of this song, Justin announced that he would be focusing on his
music career, specifying that leaving the music industry would be
"a dumb thing to do" and yes it would be. After all 'Sexy
Back' proved Justin to be a singer with immense potential.
'Give
It To Me'
The tune that is featured on producer Timbaland's solo album, Timbaland
Presents Shock Value, unites Justin Timberlake, Canadian sensation
Nelly Furtado and Timbaland together for the first time.
The tune, which is all about fun and funk and revolves around the
three singers grooving to the music and with Timbaland using drum
machines, thumping sounds and electric wizardry to his best, the
result is a dance-out number that is just a lot of fun.
'Give It To Me' reached the Hot 100 number one spot with its hip
and happening feel and Furtado and Timberlake doing the vocals.
This track made it big as it was one of the most downloaded tracks.
