Curl up and watch!

By Hafsah Sarfraz

It's that time of the year f, when you can lock yourself in your room with a stack of DVDs and watch your favourite shows! Yes, the most famous TV shows are making their comeback this fall with new stories and lots of drama! This fall there are so many shows premiering their new seasons that you should start making room for DVDs on your cabinet already. Let's take a look at what the fall is bringing us with the premieres and returns of our favorite shows.

The Vampire Dairies

Get ready to drool over your favourite vampire and no we are not talking about Edward Cullen because Stefan Salvatore is the IT thing now. Stefan is a character in the famous Vampire Dairies, a supernatural fantasy-horror television series, which is returning with an all new season on September 9! The plot revolves around Elena Gilbert who falls in love with Stefan Salvatore. However, Damon who is Stefan's older brother also falls for Elena because of her resemblance with his past love Katherine. When both the brothers start showing affection to Elena she finds herself caught in a love triangle. To complicate their lives further, Katherine returns with vain plans against the three. The story also highlights the life of Elena's brother Jeremy. Vampire Dairies premiered on television in September 2009 and has just one season to its credit but still is amazingly popular among the teens and the Teen Choice Award that it received proves that.

Gossip Girl

Our one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite is coming back on TV! Gossip Girl, a show which literally needs no introduction is premiering its fourth season on September 13.  Based on the book Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar, this show revolves around the lives of six young people; Chuck, Blair, Serena, Nate, Dan and Jenny but interestingly none of these six is the ultra secretive gossip girl. Then who is? That's one secret you'll never know, xoxo! The third season ended with Blair and Serena going to Paris after breaking up with Chuck and Nate, their boyfriends respectively. So there's much excitement as to who will end up with who now. From what we have heard, season four will open with a joyful Serena and Blair enjoying their luxurious and romantic summer in Paris until suddenly Chuck inexplicably arrives there too with a new identity and a new girlfriend! Will Queen B be able to take that? Will she get her queen status again and rule Columbia? And will Chuck and Blair ever get back together? These answers can only be found out after  September 13. Watch out for this one!

One Tree Hill
One Tree Hill is a teen television drama aired on CW that tells the story of two half brothers who are complete opposites. One Tree Hill has seven seasons to its credit by now and the eighth one is about to premiere on television. This speaks volumes about the popularity and fan following of the show. The seventh season ended with a tragedy for some and great news for the others. Brooke's going to get married, Haley is about to become a mother again and bartender Chase has a pop star and an actress after him! Well, what more does he want? But the season end was rather shocking with Clay and Quinn getting shot by Katie, who resembles Clay's dead wife! [I wonder why all the seasons ended with someone getting shot in the summer.] But anyway, to find out what's going to happen now, we'll have to wait till September  14 because that's when the famous One Tree Hill returns with its eighth season!

Glee
Glee is one of the most unique and interesting TV shows airing these days. Well not these days, since its first season ended this summer but the good news is that Glee is all set to premiere its second season on September 21. It's a musical comedy series about a Glee club at a high school in Ohio. Glee's plot revolves around an idealistic teacher; Will Schuester who takes the duty of restoring the Glee Club and picks out misfit students. He trains and pushes them to reach the biggest competition; the Nationals.  Among other members of the Glee club are the two important ones; Finn and Rachel, who Will believes are his only hope. While everyone around Will including his wife thinks he's nuts to pick up such a task, Will is all set to prove them wrong. Let's see how the story turns out in the second season because the first has been great so far.

Grey's Anatomy
I remember this friend of mine was sick and at the hospital when I texted her to ask how she was. She replied saying I have a suicide case next to me, his lover left him; he has a charcoal tube in the nose: i.e. intense Grey's Anatomy scene! That is how famous Grey's Anatomy is and how it makes you forget your pain. I know people who wanted to be a doctor just because of Grey's Anatomy so you can imagine the magic of this show. Too bad every hospital doesn't have a Mc Dreamy. About to premiere its seventh season on television now, Grey's Anatomy is one of the most watched TV shows on television, which started back in 2005. After a traumatic sixth season finale in May, the Seattle Grace-Mercy West Hospital doctors are well and good once again or if not that, then they are surely recovering. It has been revealed that some surgeons will find it difficult to move forward than the rest. As far as what we can expect is concerned, well the expectations are high because the Grey's Anatomy finale was said to be the best finale aired this summer. Rumor has it that a couple will get married in the seventh season and that too in the premiere so let's just wait till  September 23 to find out who's getting hitched.
