It was so much fun to collect useful articles and pretty pictures out of magazines for inspiration later, a little box of treasure that you could always come back to. We still have all those great, useful magazines but now websites keep us more up-to-date than ever with all sorts of fun things.
Pinterest.com is a great social media site that lets you keep all those great Internet finds in one place. When you sign up to Pinterest you add a Pin It bookmark to your browser tool bar. Users have ‘boards’ to categorize their ‘pins’; so for a burger recipe you found online you can pin it to your Recipes board, or whatever you want to title it and you can come back to your boards whenever you want. Take inspiration from other people’s boards or create your own with Fashion, Style, Tips, Décor, Inspiration or any other boards you would like to create that cater to your interests. The Pins are images with captions and will take you back to the original site when you click on them. You can follow Pinners and they can follow you and you can ‘Repin’ anything you find interesting off of their boards (whether they follow you or you follow them or not). Pinners can follow individuals or any specific boards they fancy. Pinterest also allows you to Like and Comment on people’s Pins. If you run a blog or have a photograph you’re proud of you can easily upload that too.
Pinterest eliminates the hassle of saving stuff on your laptop, computer or mobile device, but there is an iPhone Pinterest app. Be warned: Pinning is extremely addictive
