- Reckless type of play;
usual routine of weak play.

- It is cricket; but shortage
of team spirit was the main reason for the 3-0 defeat.
Pakistan cricket team has great professional players, but
they do not play for the nation.

- Well that was just
upsetting! Huh...we really need to plan the matches...
cant just go in the field and start playing without
thinking! And well Akram is a great captain! But they
really need to work on their batting and fielding!
Were one of the worst teams in fielding... players
dont even run or try hard! They just stand around
like some major dupes. People start running, get the
ball...who cares if your clothes get dirty or if you get
a few bruises! And batting...well...really need to
practice...and not just the top order batsman but the
bowlers also should know how to bat! EXTRAS! Something
that they should control! Cant just go on giving
runs to the other team for no reason! Overall Pakistan is
a great team... but they really do need to work hard. I
hope we win the ODI series! Inshallah :)

- First of all putting two
all-rounders in the first test was a big mistake on part
of the Pakistani management. Just because players like
Abdur Razzaq can take wickets in one- dayers does not
mean that they would be as much effective in the longer
version of the game. The opening slot has to be filled
also by a quality player. Wasti does not seem to be good
enough for test cricket and M.Wasim is always
unpredictable. One more thing, I think Shoaib is way too
over-rated. With the type of test record he has he would
have been out of most of the test playing teams, but
its Pakistan who keeps such players as Shoaib and
Shahid Afridi in the team for no reason at all. I thought
I had seen the last of Afridi after the World Cup, but
once again he managed to get back in the team for no
reason at all.

- It was bound to happen. The
performance of our batsmen was appalling, it is high time
we got rid of some of the old players; consistency is
what they lack. Saeed Anwer seems to have lost his touch.
Shoaib needs to concentrate more on line and length,
rather than pace. Well after this disappointing series,
major changes have to be made. Wasim is a great player,
but he made a couple of bad decisions. The bottom line is
we need a coach of the calibre of Javed, who can help
Wasim out.

- It is only a game, you win
some and you lose some. However our players (team) need
more support from us when they are losing than when they
are winning. We hope our team will do better next time.

- Yes, the Pakistani cricket
team is absolutely whitewashed by Australia. The way
Pakistani cricket team is playing it can be easily
whitewashed by any other team of the world. There is no
captaincy, no fighting spirit, no understanding at all. I
think only Javaid Miandad can save the Pakistani cricket
future, as he is one greatest player of the world in
cricket history and has always played for the country not
for himself. We should appoint him as Pakistani cricket
coach immediately before it is too late.
Tariq Khan
Pakistan
- Well...the past three
series Pakistan-Australia have been pretty one-sided.
Before every series, people think that the 2 teams are
even, and yet on the field Pakistan seems way worse than
Australia. It's a kind of a mystery but it was
unfortunate that this was the series Pakistan was
whitewashed since they didn't play their worst cricket,
and batted reasonably well for a Pakistan team.

- Every profession requires
professionalism. We totally lack that. Inconsistent and
unreliable batting, sloppy fielding and overconfidence
have been our team's problems for a long time now. The
manager, coach and captain always have one explanation
"The better side won". Well who is going to
make our side the "Better Side" and when?
Fielding has been our problem for 50 years now, running
between the wickets, irresponsible batting, etc. who is
going to take care of those problems? It was not
umpiring, it was not Australia's luck; it was our
unprofessional attitude for which the entire nation is
being ridiculed. The cricketers have a job, they are the
nation's employees; they should become responsible.

- Whenever a well-organised
and well-implemented system comes into conflict with a
set of people playing only for emotion, the former is
bound to win. Australia has the best organised cricketing
machine in the world. Pakistan has a superbly talented
side, but the end result is a 3-0 defeat. The system
always defeats the individual, and that is what Indians
and Pakistanis need to learn. India's turn is next.
Vinay

- Wasim Akram's inability to
use Waqar Younis in the 2nd innings of the 2nd test
resulted in the loss. Wasim heavily depended upon Shoaib,
himself and Mushtaq, but honestly did not use Waqar. I
dont know why. Besides, Australians have mastered
the bowling of Shoaib. To Australians Shoaib is just
another bowler. As far as Australian cheating is
concerned, we must bear in mind that this nation is the
descendants of convicts. What else could you expect from
these criminals? Just ask any Sri Lankan to confirm that.
Mumtaz Baig

- Now they only play for
money not for the Nation. So we have no hopes of winning.
If they make MONEY during the world cup, they can do
anything. Keep it up Waseem, Moin.
Ashar Siddiqui

- I will not talk about the
first test because history shows us that Pakistani
players never did well in the first test. The second test
was really played by Umpire Peter Parker. I am surprised
why Akram chose to bat first despite having the advantage
of world good fast attack, in the third test. The
decision was the poorest of all because I think he is the
only captain to bat first on a pitch, which is the
fastest in the world. It's all money! He took money that
if he won the toss he was going to bat. On the other hand
if Aussie won the toss, they definitely going to send
Pakistan in for bat. The whole series was a mess except
for the second test. Inzi, YO YO and some others played
well but the bottom line is not a combine effort to win.
Abdul Razzaq Khan
USA
- I think that every time
Pakistan loses any match or series, it loses because of
its poor batting. Our bating was never predictable in the
past. Here is a big example of Saeed Anwar. He always
gets out in the slip. And still he goes for the ball
outside the off stumps. I think selectors shouldnt
let Ejaz Ahmad play anymore. He plays only one good
inning in a series, and in the rest of the matches he
does nothing. Our bowlers have always done as batsmen.
They have to bat well also, because our batsmen never do
sensible batting. The responsibility goes to the batsmen.
Atif Jamil
Pakistan
- Well, I believe there are a
couple of things that caused a humiliating defeat in the
hands of Aussies. First, lack of discipline, lack of
professionalism, wrong team selection, and last but not
the least, poor captaincy of Wasim. I would still prefer
Waqar Younis to Shoiab and Mohd Akram, the major blunder
in the 1st Test was to play with two all-rounders, this
is Test Cricket, hello! Shoaib is still in the learning
phase, and the guy needed a much more mature mentor to
teach him how to bowl with shorter run-ups, better line
and length, and to bowl right on the wicket. Its
not the speed, its bowling according to the field.
Pakistan team really have to work hard in the areas of
fielding, its the only department of the game which
puts pressure on the opposing team. Wasim Akram should
stop dumping Waqar and the selection committee should
provide a fair chance to Aamir Sohail; he is still the
class batsman along with Saeed Anwar.
Aamir Zia

- I think Pakistan lost
because they were not mentally prepared for such a hard
tour. When you tour down under with a young team, you
should be mentally tuned to the kind of wicket, the
atmosphere and most importantly sledding. This team has
great potential, it did not deliver the best because the
PCB did not treat the players fairly before the tour.
Imagine you suspend the players after the world cup and
reinstate them in between a commotion and ask them to go
to Australia for a tough test series, which is asking for
too much. Please do not depend too much on Shoaib, he is
very young and talented but it is high time he shut his
mouth about his speed etc.
Sam
India
- I dont know why Wasim
is hell bent on destroying Waqars career. There was
too much reliance on Shoaib and unnecessary hype that he
would break the 100-mile barrier. Dennis Lilly was right
in concluding that Shoaib is not in the league of
Holding, Thompson etc. regarding pace. Saqlains
limitations were exposed; he is nothing in the test arena
when the wicket is not spinning and also that left-handed
batsmen have started understanding his deliveries- Langer
and Gilchrist are good examples. Sohail should be brought
back and Waqar treated according to his stature. Also
what was the point in taking Ghulam Ali along (who is a
below-average player) if he was not allowed to play?
Its all clear that Wasim still hasnt settled
differences with Sohail. (Where there is smoke there is
fire)
Humayun Mir

- It was total
disappointment. Yes "cricket is by chance". But
you have to avail the chance to win the match. Pakistani
team is a bunch of gamblers. Their religion is money. I
must say that they have no right to play for Pakistan. I
think the best solution is to kick off all players and
get all junior players to make a team. I am sure they
will play better than these gamblers.
Saiyed Rizvi

- It was a repetition of
their performance in the World Cup final. Those who sell
their swords cant fight. It was supposed to happen
this way.
Khurram Ilyas
Pakistan
- It is confirmed that these
players only play for money; they never played for their
country. If you remember, in the 1996 World Cup he
refused to play in Quarter Final before the play. Can
anybody tell me why? If he is not fit why did he go to
India? You and I dont understand why and how they
lost the 1999 world cup final. Ok we accept; but can
anybody tell me how they lost to Bangladesh? In the
second tests first innings, Waqar got a chance to
play. Although he is senior to Shoaib, Wasim didnt
allow him to bowl first. In the first innings he had
bowled extremely well and taken two valuable wickets. We
all know Waqar is a master with old ball. In the second
innings he bold 11 overs less than Azhar Mehmood who bold
17 overs. Just think why?

- Naturally, we as Pakistanis
feel hurt when the team loses and so label them as
losers. But at the end of the day the current Australia
team, as much as we hate them, is a better side and maybe
our team loses its nerve against them and this in turn is
a confidence booster for the Aussies. However we are a
formidable side in one-day cricket but need to prove it
in test cricket as well.

- It's all part of the game,
or let's say charm of the game, the unpredictability of
this lovely game called cricket, magical like the sound
of a cricket in a hot summers cool night! The thing which
bothers me is the pre-mature (forced...) removal of
Pakistani team's coach Pybus. Well, if we are to remove
coaches with each lost tournament, we're gonna end up
with more coaches than the total number of American
presidents to date in just a few months! At least
lets work to strengthen one institution, if we
can't stabilise the governments in our South Asian
region!

- I am deeply hurt that
Pakistan lost the series by 3-1.The umpiring standard in
Australia is not good and our team also did not play
well. I hope our team performs better in the triangular
series.

- Australia simply outclassed
us with mental strength and a talent reserve, which
equalled the Pakistanis. It settled the issue in my mind.
Australia is without any doubt the most competent team in
the world and most deserving of their World Champion
status.
Haroon
Australia
- The worst performance by
Pakistan team, I would say. I was stunned that a team
which was being tipped as the only team which could beat
Australia in Australia, got beaten so miserably.
Dont put the blame on umpires. Ok, if we say there
was that decision of Justin Langer then there were also
some decisions which went against Australia. We must
accept the defeat rather than make lame excuses. Also
Wasim Akram did not lead well and we must accept that
there has not been any dynamic captain after Imran Khan.
I am sure if Imran had been the captain we could have
easily won this series. Hey Pakistanis, dont we
have another Khan in us who can come up and revive our
cricket? Imran knew how to fight like tigers and to make
the team play like one unit. Hmmm...Imran we need you;
come back as there is no Imran Khan in the making in the
near future.
Haroon Qasim
Pakistan
- I was in Pakistan when we
lost the Independence cup and other tournaments in the
absence of Wasim Akram. He is a great player and a good
fighting captain. If we lost the series in Australia, it
was because of poor umpiring- everybody knows that they
didnt want to lose that's why this happened. The
Pakistani team is well settled and I don't understand why
they sacked Pysbus. There was no point in doing that for
it was a slur to our honour
Saqib Abdullah

- With a deep heart I have no
regrets in saying that we Pakistanis are being thrashed
by the Aussies. They have kicked us hard, the same way as
they did in the final of the world cup. I think that
Pakistan should stop playing cricket now, as they simply
do nothing.
Wasif Farooq
Australia
- We are happy with our team.
Wasim Akram the team did a great job. All the white men
are cheaters. Australians cheat with Pakistan team.
Abdul Qayyum
Pakistan
- I think this at least
proves that Australia is a better team than Pakistan, and
it can also be said that Pakistan lost naturally in the
world cup final and that maybe it wasn't a fixed match.
One team has to lose and if Pakistan lost, it doesn't
mean that it was fixed. Give these guys a break!
Zujaja

- I think it was a very poor
performance indeed. Especially the Hobart test, that was
an easy win; very poor performance from bowlers as well
as from batsmen. I am deeply hurt.
Rashid
Hong Kong
- I think it was a very close
competition, especially, the second test match, when the
series was almost 1-1. Similarly in the 2nd innings of
the third test match, if we look at the Australian score
board, only a couple of players managed to enter double
figures and went on and made centuries, otherwise
Australians overall performance was not as good as
Pakistan's. Precisely, each member of the Pakistani team
contributed to all the matches someway or the other, but
Australians won matches on the basis of uniform
performance. It was simply bad luck for Pakistan. But
Inshallah Pakistan will perform well in the forthcoming
triangular series.
Jawwad Yazdani

- All other Pakistani cricket
lovers and I are very unhappy and angry over the 3-0
defeat in the test series with Australia. There are many
reasons behind it. The wrong selection of the team. Wasim
did not want to give any chance to Waqar Younas and
decided to destroy his career. He has also tried his best
not to accommodate Aamir Sohail or Rashid Latif. I
request the Chief Executive and President of Pakistan to
conduct proper accountability of the team.
Farhad
Pakistan
- Pakistan was the most
competent side that was able to beat Australia in
Australia. This is a shame to lose 3-nil despite having
the best bowling attack in the world. It seems Wasim
Akram and others had no idea, no direction and no
commitment at all. We Pakistanis are one of the talented
nations but wasting ourselves by messing up in sports,
politics and economics. It is high time we learnt from
our mistakes.
A.S.Pathan
UAE
- The scenario in Australia
was similar to the white wash in World Cup final. As long
as Pakistan has unreliable players like Ejaz Ahmad and
others in the team who play good in one match and then
flunk in the next ones, we can never give a consistent
performance. These players will let us down definitely.
What we need are consistent performers like Javed Miandad
who would contribute reasonably in all games and then
excel extraordinarily in some. Pakistan has an unreliable
batting line-up and that has been its problem since the
retirement of Imran Khan and Javed Miandad who used to be
the backbone in bowling and batting. Consistent players
like Basit Ali, Shoaib Mohammad and Salim Yusuf were left
out leaving in current years a very unreliable batting
line. The team needs a major overhaul and removal of
these inconsistent players and patience to tolerate fresh
and consistent talent to thrive till it matures.
Syed Noman haider
USA
- We all know the weaknesses
of Pakistan's cricket team: poor fielding and collapsing
under pressure. However one thing we know is that
Pakistan's cricket team was and is one of the best teams
in the world. The second cricket test match saw some very
poor umpiring and many decisions went against them. The
Pakistani bowlers appealed all day on the 5th day of the
match but could not convince Mr. Parker of caught behinds
and LBWs, which even the Australians expert felt that the
batsmen should have been given out. There was no way the
Australians could have scored more than 350 runs after
losing 5 wickets very quickly, if they hadn't had the
umpire's help. That was really depressing and
demoralising for the team who must have lost all interest
in the 3rd test after realising that no matter how well
they perform they cannot overcome a very "hostile
umpiring". What is even more unfortunate is that I
didn't read much about this in Pakistani media and even
the ex test cricketers who understand cricket very well
are blaming the captain and the bowlers and not even a
word has been said about poor umpiring. I think that the
Pakistan Cricket Board should request the ICC to review
the umpiring in the recently concluded series especially
the second test. They should also stress the need for
having neutral umpires.
Mohammed Mubashir Ahmed
USA
- It doesnt look like a
Pakistani team, rather a Bangladeshi one. We are really
disappointed at the result. Our teams need more practice
and less commission. Please for Gods sake
dont lose your countrys honour.
Khalid Khan
USA
- I am stunned. Pakistan is a
very good team in the world with the world's fastest
bowler with it. To lose to Australia in this ignominious
manner is something unbelievable. Definitely it is not
poor performance on the field but "elsewhere".
This needs to be thoroughly probed.
N. Nageswaran
Singapore
- Before the Pakistanis
landed in the land of the Kangaroos, no one knew that
they were in for an historic beating. The Australians
proved to be miles ahead of their counterparts; they were
superior in their determination, ability to succeed and
power to excel. Such a harsh thrashing at the hands of
the Aussies and so much a deplorable performance by the
Pakistanis speak volumes of the great gulf of cricketing
talent and domestic infrastructure between the two
countries. Something must urgently be done to remove our
present batting predicament. And perhaps it's time for
Shoaib Akhtar to do away with 'the fastest bowler on
earth' syndrome and start taking some wickets as he is in
the middle solely for wicket-taking purpose- the
paramount objective of a bowler. For personal glory too,
the tour was a failure for skipper Akram and now it seems
that the magical figure of 434 test wickets may be asking
too much for the ageing lion of Lahore who may not
survive enough to be the third Pakistani to play 100 test
matches.
Shahid Mian
USA
- Well! Its hard to
swallow that Pakistan who had been performing quite well
in the past few months, would lose the series in such a
humiliating way. I personally think there is something
wrong amongst the players, which came up in the form of
such a poor performance in Australia. Authorities must
find out the cause and try to reconcile the differences
instead of pressurising the players- in which case
performance graph would further go down.
Tasneem Murad
Saudi Arabia
- I think this was a good
chance for young cricketers to learn more tips/tricks of
the game. In my opinion, we should add young blood to our
team and do a little more clean up in our team.
Irshad A Saeed
Pakistan
- It was disgusting to watch
our cricket team's performance. The team seemed down and
under pressure. After the world cup's debacle, we thought
the team would certainly turn over a new leaf now but
they have really let us down one more time. That reminds
us of the great Javed Miandad, who used to bat according
to the situation. So many times, in his career, he helped
Pakistan come out of tremendous pressure. After him, we
have not seen even a single batsman like him. The
President must take notice of this hurtful performance
and the Board should dismiss some players like Mohammad
Wasim, Mushtaq Ahmed and Ejaz (yes even after his 100)
and include Rashid Latif, Shoaib Malik and Amir Sohail
for the upcoming tri-nation series in Australia.
Wahab Hameed Shirgaonkar
Pakistan
- Australians know how to
apply themselves to the required conditions. They have
proved their professionalism. No matter how experienced
some of our team members are, they have yet to learn.
That is why, improvement in domestic cricket is of utmost
importance.
Ahmed Bilal
Pakistan
- When our heroes lost the WC
final against Aussies, the whole nation got furious and
was ready to even kill them (Pak team). What a nice way
to appreciate our heroes' victories, which they got in
the past, and in earlier matches at WC. I mean this is
just a game any one can lose it, and it has happened with
our team many times before. Our players are unpredictable
in their performance, because of their lack of fitness
and confidence. This team, as Imran Khan says, has been
the best one in Pakistans cricket history, and they
can beat any team in the world, and they did, last year
in India and Sharjah. The same bowlers (fast and slow)
performed well on Indian dead wickets, so why then
cant they perform on fast Australian wickets?
Its a question and answer to this is that Waseem
did it intentionally, only to take revenge of that insult
which was gifted by the whole nation a few months ago.
Khalid Mahmood
USA
- It was unfortunate that
Pakistani team lost all the matches. Although partly we
can blame biased umpiring, Australia was a better and
well-organised side. They deserved to win the series.
Pakistani team is capable of playing better cricket,
which they did play in Australia. I think the team was
relying mostly on the bowling attack and it was thought
to be the best attacks of the world. But in Australia
that was the bowling attack that caused us the
humiliating defeats. Fast bowlers seemed a bunch of dumb
brains who just wanted to impress the world with their
speed. They never threatened to get the Aussie batsmen's
wickets neither did they try to contain the flow of runs.
Shoaib particularly was a huge disappointment. Pakistani
team was missing a genuine opener and a batsman at one
down position. Ijaz can't cope with pace and swing
bowling at all. We have one of the highest paid coaches
in the world but he could not improve the fielding of the
team. Instead, I think that may be the worst fielding
displays at the international level. School teams have
better standards in the field. Overall Pakistani team
seems very unorganised and lacks professionalism and team
spirit. They succumb to the pressure too easily. Shoaib
should learn a lesson from this thumping by the hands of
the Aussies. You can't always get the batsman out by
intimidating him. Pakistani team should have won the
Hobart test. Pakistani players' nerves proved too weak
there. I still can't believe that Wasim Akram decided to
bat first in Perth on the fastest pitch on this planet.
It was a suicidal mistake that cost the match. Although
Aamir Sohail is kind of a person who is very hard to deal
with, he is good enough a player to be included in the
side.
Kamran Nasim
USA
- Actually this is Wasim
Akram's favourite team which he has made himself, no
resistance from the board. Hence the whitewash. According
to Wasim's statement that they wanted experience in this
tour. If they wanted experience why did he pick Shoaib,
Mohd. Wasim, Wwajahat Wasti? They are non-experienced
persons. If you have no strategy then the result is what
you just got.
Noman Soofi
Pakistan
- At first in the world cup
final Pakistan Cricket Team had taken money and lost the
match but in the test series whitewash, it was bad luck.
But don't worry, there is a lot of cricket remaining; if
they try their best they will win.
Ashar Noman
Pakistan
- I think Pakistanis were
simply outplayed by the Australians in all the
disciplines. Our team was a young and inexperienced. The
Pakistani team has also had little Test match practice in
the past year. Pakistan should have sent Wasti as opener,
for he had shown great performance in the Test style of
the game and must give up on spent talents like Ijaz. On
the bowling side our main strong points did not do. I
feel that Shoaib Akhtar was overrated and I would like to
see Waqar return for the one-dayers.
Bilal A
Canada
- There is a difference
between a "ball hitter" and a "ball
player". Our team is full of hitters which is good
for one day cricket but for test cricket our team needs a
lot of training. All of the players and management lack
tactics required to play test cricket. A study of
previous test wins by the same team will reveal that they
were either by luck or the weakness of the opposing
teams. Shoaib, though the fastest bowler in the world,
bowls straight to the bat and that is not how you play
test cricket. This team should be kept together. They
will mature through experience as the worlds' best,
because they have got the potential.
Congratulations to Australia, they proved themselves as
true champions of the world.
Sajjad Rehman
England
- Well, I was very
disappointed the way Pakistan played in this test series.
There is no doubt that Pakistan is the best test side in
the world along with South Africa and Australia, even
Steve Waugh admits that. The fact is, in the first test,
Pakistan batting let them down badly in the second
innings; it really should have been a draw! In the second
test it was their balling that let them down. Pakistan
deserved to win that game and in the third test it was
both! It really should have been 1-1. Wasim has to make
some changes in the team. Pakistan's batting and balling
is not bad but they lack in their fielding. Catches win
matches and the way they dropped catches right from the
first test, how could they win like that.
Sohail Hanif
UK
- I think we should get rid
of Captain Wasim and Ijaz Ahmed, and let Aamir Sohail
lead the team. I admit Wasim is a good player, and maybe
a good captain, but he is always doubtful.
S. Cheema
Los Angeles, USA
- I personally feel that
Pakistan is not that bad a team to lose 3-0. But they
suffered from the failure of their batting line-up and
the failure of Shoaib Akhtar, whom they depended upon so
much. Also, the crucial umpiring decision of Justin
Langer in the second test really affected their morale.
As a whole, Australia got the right initiatives at the
crucial moments. Overall, Pakistan could not click as a
team, whereas Australia did. Also the internal politics
and the turmoil back home affected their performance.
Debashis Basu
India
- Our players were outclassed
by a side which had 13 not 11 players. Don't lose faith
Pakistan, please bring back Miandad as coach.
Dr Xmas Jones
United States
- Its only a game. And
we have to change our culture of non-acceptance of
defeat. The important thing is that in every test we went
down fighting. I still think that Pakistans cricket
team is the best in the world. All our players have great
potential and killer instinct which other teams like
India and England do not have.
Nasir Iqbal
USA/Pakistan
- Well, any team which plays
better always wins. But in this particular series I would
simply say that it was purely bad luck for Pakistan team.
The second test was almost in the hands of Pakistani team
but Australian players managed to complete the given
target. Although we have lost the series, I can say that
Pakistani players have the ability to defeat any good
team in the world.
Mohammad Akram
Singapore
- I think that this was a
total failure of the captain. We must have a national
coach for our team.
Syed Sajjad Haider Kazmi
Pakistan
- Its just cricket.
Still the Pakistan team is too good, and Australia is
superior, we know. It happened due to the political
situation in the country.
Irshad Ahmed Khan
USA
- It was horrible. But it is
only a game, and cricket is always "by chance".
Next time I think they will perform well.
Umar Rehman
The Netherlands
- The team should be
restructured and black sheep should be kicked out with
short notice (like Wasim Akram, Ejaz Ahmed, Inzamam ul
Haq).
Azhar-us-Saqib
US
- Our batsmen have proved
highly unreliable and inconsistent in the past many years
and this was yet another show of the fact. We dont
need batsmen who score 100 in one match and fall back to
duck in the next four, averaging 20 per match. We need
consistent and consolidated batting where a guy scores at
least 20 in every match to be reliable and dependable.
Shahzad Nadeem
Qatar
- I think that it is because
of too much one-day cricket and lack of test cricket,
especially domestic test series. The reason lies in the
Sharjah Cup, which is in October/November and February/
March. This does not leave enough time for a local
series. Thus because of poor planning of the
administrators the fault lies with the board rather than
the players. Secondly, because we are playing more
one-days, we are selecting hitters, stroke-players rather
than grafters whom the board discouraged by dropping from
the team (e.g. Shoaib Mohammad's career was ended in such
a way). Our batsmen have 'forgotten' how to bat for more
than a day! It is the boards fault.
Tahir Qaiyum Khan
Pakistan
- It wouldn't be so bad if
the Pakistani team had lost because it was defeated by a
more talented side. That would have been unfortunate but
understandable. Although the result appears to suggest
this I am of the view that the difference between the two
sides was their temperament. The Aussies are renowned for
their gutsy performances in the most adverse of
circumstances. We are famous for losing from winning
positions. Its this side of the game that the team
managers need to concentrate on.

- There is no doubt that
Australians outdid Pakistan.
Mohammed Khalifa
Canada
- It was a series between
worlds best cricket team and worlds best
eleven cricket individuals. It is high time that
Pakistani cricketers thought seriously about playing for
the country instead of their own personal records. Even
my son Talha can play better cricket than any Pakistani
test cricket player.
Mohammad Shariq Rasheed
United Arab Emirates
- Pakistani cricket has
survived and succeeded merely due to the natural talent
people posses. Our batsmen have made lasting impressions
on the slow and dusty tracks of the sub-continent as well
as in the U.A.E. But when it comes to fast, green-top and
bouncy wickets, the same have failed miserably with the
willow. I would
strongly urge the PCB to develop speedy and bouncy
pitches in Pakistan which would not only aid our batsmen
but also the fast bowlers who happen to be the fastest on
the globe. Imagine what our team would be capable of if
the stroke-makers mastered the art and technique of
handling pace and bounce?
Umair Fazle
New Jersey, USA
- A totally lacklustre
performance. A lot of players seemed like they were on
vacation in Australia. Even the Indian team seems to be
more committed.
Sohail
US
- The kind of treatment our
cricketers were given prior to the tour, a 3-0 wash
should have been expected. How did we expect our players
to perform with any sort of relaxation, when they were
subjected to mental agony and distrust? What kind of a
nation are we that can only claim heroes if they are
victorious and subject them to unending judicial
inquiries if they lose? We ourselves made our heroes
laughing stock and subject of controversies by carrying
on with hyped inquisitions. What do we think our
cricketers are made of, 'rocks'? But in spite of the
excessive external pressures the team performed very
well, in fact so well that in order to be beaten the
opposition had to resort to childish unfair play.
Dr.Rubina Nadeem
Sultanate of Oman
- The Pakistani team is no
doubt the greatest team in the world but what happened in
Australia is surely upsetting. Perhaps the allegations
against the team might be correct but, as we saw, they
were not found guilty. Hence highlighting the weaknesses
of our system.
Hina Majid
UAE/Pakistani
- Remove the South African
coach immediately. This South African coach gave his
personal guarantee to Allan Border that Pakistan would
lose all three test matches. He had also given guarantee
before the start of the world cup final that Pakistan
would lose. In the USA many Pakistanis knew before the
start of the series that Pakistan would lose 3-0.
Rashid Khan
USA
- I guess they did play well.
We have to remember one thing that it depends on the
situation. There is a bad thing about us that we do not
want to lose. When Pakistani team wins they become our
heroes and when they lose we give them no respect,
instead we throw stones on their homes. I guess it would
encourage our team even after a defeat, if we receive
them like heroes.
Shahzad
Canada
- They lacked
professionalism. They needed to work hard in fielding,
and they also needed better coaching. They wouldnt
have lost the Australian series if they had worked on it.
Khurram Abbasi
USA
- I predicted whitewash even
before the series started. Please someone ask Wasim
Akram, why he elected to bat first on a fast bouncy
wicket of Perth? He is playing cricket for the last 15
years. He should know better that you field first when
you win the toss. Learn from the opponent, Wasim. You
have sent Pakistan in to bat twice after winning the
toss. Shame on you, Mr. Wasim, you never learnt a lesson,
as you did the same thing in the world cup final when you
elected to bat on a moist wicket. Some people never learn
the lesson.
Imran Khawaja
USA
- Well, all I would say at
this very moment is that the guys are overconfident and
that overconfidence resulted in a defeat. My suggestion
is that they need to concentrate on the mistakes that
they have been making since the beginning of the series.
Develop a new strategy for bowling and batting, and quit
doing experiments. It's too late for the experiments.
Yasir Raza
Pakistan
- Absolutely pathetic and a
disgrace to the Pakistani community living overseas who
have to put up with taunts because of the team. Pakistani
cricketers should learn to play with their minds and not
with their hearts, as they have done in the tests against
Australia, in particular, the second test against
Australia. The more emotional they get, the better it is
for the opposition.
