Meghan Markle, Prince Harry ‘sneakily’ planning to keep ties to UK exposed

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are ‘sneakily’ planning to keep their ties to the UK intact, a PR expert has claimed as per Mirror UK.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently based in the US, where they live in Montecito with their two kids, Archie and Lilibet, after stepping down from their roles as senior working royals back in 2020.

The pair have since managed to severe their ties to the royal family even more as they attempt to rebrand themselves for a more Hollywood way of life; Harry and Meghan have made several incendiary claims in several interviews, and even their respective Netflix and Spotify shows.

However, Lynn Carratt, a PR expert from Press Box PR, has pointed out that the Sussexes have hired two new PR officers, and how they may be linked to preserving their ties to the UK despite their royal rift.

Talking to Mirror UK, Carratt said, “The Sussexes will be knocked for whatever they do, they are like Marmite, you either love them or hate them,” before sharing that their new PR hires were ‘interesting’.

“One of the hires, Charlie Gipson will be the Director of Communications for all UK contacts, which illustrates that the couple wants to maintain their ties with the UK,” Carratt noted.

She then added, “However, it is worth noting that reported Gipson has no tabloid experience, which could be seen as a risky move given that most of the publicity surrounding the Sussexes is in the tabloids. They will be hoping he will be able to develop a PR strategy that will help change the public perception of them in the UK.”

This comes as Prince Harry is in the UK for a short visit to attend the Invictus Games Foundation’s 10th anniversary service, which took place on Wednesday, May 8.
