Young Sheldon series cast has delved into a sombre storyline, discussing the emotional impact of George's heartbreaking death.
In the third-to-last episode of the Big Bang Theory prequel Young Sheldon, Sheldon's father, George, passed away from a heart attack.
While conversing with ET, the cast of the Netflix series, shared their remorse on the sad turning in the plot.
Lance Barber, who portrays the character of George in the series, told, “I've had the luxury of emotionally preparing for this for seven years.”
He added, "It doesn't keep it from landing kind of strange on you when you're in the moments."
Montana Jordan, who is Sheldon's brother, Georgie, in the series, expressed his feelings, he said, "I don't know if there is any preparing anybody for it. It's just going to have to hit you, hit you hard too.”
Meanwhile, Zoe Perry, who plays Sheldon’s mother, Mary, added, "We knew we were gonna end around that time, but discovering how and is still kind of new to us. I imagine if it's sad for us, it will be sad for people who have watched from the beginning."
Iain Armitage, who plays the lead character of Sheldon, stated, “"What I love is that the last episode that we're seeing George in really is just a beautiful and great episode right up until the last [moment].”
The Big Little Lies actor added, “You barely even see it coming, so it's not like the whole episode is mournful and dreary."
To note, Young Sheldon, which is a prequel spin-off of the original sitcom The Big Bang Theory, was aired on CBS between 2017 and 2024.
The upcoming two-part series is scheduled to conclude on May 16, 2024.
