Shawn Mendes is set to release his highly anticipated new album, Shawn, marking his return to music after a two-year hiatus.

The Señorita singer made the announcement on Instagram, sharing a black-and-white video from the album, which features 12 songs.

In a heartfelt post, Mendes revealed that his new album Shawn will be released on October 18 and two singles, Why Why Why and Isn't That Enough, on his birthday, August 8.

The Isn't That Enough was released as an album trailer, giving fans a glimpse into what to expect from the new album.

Mendes also opened up about the difficult process of recording his new album in his Instagram post.

“Music really can be medicine,” Mendes penned in caption.

He went on to share, “2 years ago I felt like I had absolutely no idea who I was. A year ago I couldn’t step into a studio without falling into complete panic. So to be here right now with 12 beautiful finished songs feels like such a gift.”

The Stitches singer further credited his friends and family for their unwavering support and love.

“I really hope you love this album, I do. I really really do. I hope it makes you feel warm and close to the earth like it does for me,” Mendes further added.

Shawn Mendes’s new album, Shawn will be his fifth studio album, following the success of his 2020 album Wonder.

The new album comes after he postponed and eventually cancelled his 2022 world tour due to mental health issues.
