The American actress was born in Bayonne, New Jersey, on December 14, made her acting debut on the soap opera Guiding Light, and eventually became the lead actress of the show.

But she became famous after she played the role of teenage Judy Garland in a mini-television series based on the book written by Lorna Luft, the daughter of a legendary singer-actress. She also received a Primetime Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nomination for her performance in the series.
