The trailer for the much-awaited Zee5 series Dhoop Ki Deewar was released on Tuesday. The trailer receive immense response from fans, who were excitedly waiting for Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir starrer series. However, others were not happy with the idea of a cross-border love story.

After the trailer came out, the series and the writer Umera Ahmed came under attacks of criticism and backlash on the Internet for portraying a loved story between a Pakistani Muslim girl and a Hindu Indian boy.

Acclaimed writer Ahmed had faced severe backlash for promoting a Pakistan-India/Muslim-Hindu love story. Netizens called the writer anti-Pakistani for her latest work.

The series is the Sajal and Ahad’s first project together since their marriage. The other star cast includes Manzar Sehbai, Sawera Nadeem, Samiya Mumtaz, Zaib Rehman, Samina Ahmed, Zoya Nasir, and child star Sami Khan. It is directed by Haseeb Hassan.
