Gwyneth Paltrow has given a befitting response to the haters over an alleged dinner with OpenAI boss Sam Altman.
Reports emerged on social media that the Marty Supreme starlet was set to host a dinner in honour of the businessman.
On Thursday, August 20, Gwyneth shared her own versions of the dinner invitation on Instagram, mocking the backlash.
She took a sharp dig, as she penned, "We’re serving swordfish burritos, cheddar foam lattes on request," leaving the fans curious whether she would be hosting the dinner or not.
Alongside the cheeky caption, she also changed the guest of honour each time in the post— mentioning M3GAN, Samantha Jones, Shrek, Jessica Rabbit and finally Chanty Beluga.
Backlash over dinner invitation
As the hilarious invitations made it to the Gram, one fan praised Gwyneth’s humour, commenting, "No one trolls like Gwyneth."
"Ah yes, honouring Shrek. Very aligned with the whole ‘fairytale billionaire tech overlord dinner’ aesthetic," another noted.
While a third mocked, "It’s giving that 2022 film The Menu with Anya Taylor-Joy."
"Oh yes, a cheeky play on the fact you’re hosting a literal predator. Wonderful," fourth said.
How Gwyneth Paltrow lands into dinner controversy
The drama began after a leaked invitation card resurfaced on social media, suggesting the actress was set to host a private al fresco dinner at her home on Saturday, August 29th, in honour of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
At the time, the cream-coloured card is decorated with cobalt-blue vines, doves, flowers, and a giant illustrated sun staring serenely from above.
It announces that Paltrow invites you to a private, off-the-record al fresco dinner at her home in honour of Sam Altman.
The invite for the "private, off-the-record" gathering lists cocktails at 6 p.m. and a seated dinner at 6:45 p.m.
Notably, the image of the alleged invitation was quickly reshared by social media users, who criticised Paltrow.
Comedian-activist Matt Bernstein also posted a video arguing that her ties to artificial intelligence reflect "technofascism."
Well, the viral invitation might be off-the-record, but the internet absolutely RSVP'd to the discourse.
