Brad Paisley had a devastatingly emotional moment on stage.
During his recent show at Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater, the 53-year-old American singer became visibly emotional as he paid a poignant tribute to his late friend and collaborator Dolly Parton following her tragic death.
At the concert, the singer struggled to hold back tears as he performed his and Parton’s duet song When I Get Where I’m Going alone for the first time after her passing.
Addressing the audience, Paisley emotionally shared, “When I recorded that song and sent it to Dolly, I said, ‘A couple of people in my life I’ve lost, and I didn’t know if this would relate to you.’ And she immediately said, ‘Yes, let me sing on that,’ and did.”
The Remind Me crooner then opened up on how the song about death and heaven has taken on a different meaning in his life, something he never anticipated.
“I never thought it would be about her, but it is. It’s everything she believed, and we will always love you, Dolly,” he stated.
During the heart-touching tribute, a photo of the Jolene hitmaker appeared on screen along with a text that read, “We Love You Dolly.”

The country music legend briefly battled an undisclosed form of cancer and was admitted to hospital four days before her passing.
