Sony’s latest PlayStation State of Play event occurred today, delivering a plenty of exhilarating titles, updates, and launch dates for PS5 players.
The September 3 event featured several significant games such as Marvel’s Wolverine, Ghost of Yōtei, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, Until Dawn 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation.

Marvel’s Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei
Marvel’s Wolverine got the latest launch trailer ahead of its September 15 launch. The footage underscored Bolivar Trask’s mutant-hunting program and the generation of the infamous Sentinel robots.
Meanwhile, Ghost of Yōtei is receiving the latest hardcore survival mode for single-player gameplay. The mode releases October 1 and will enable players to manipulate some characters from Ghost of Yōtei and Ghost of Tsushima protagonist Jin Sakai.
Monster Hunter Wilds
Capcom displayed Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, the forthcoming expansion slated for 2027. The expansion is set to launch new gears, locations as well as monsters.
Metro 2039
The major event also unveiled a highly interesting Metro 2039 got a PS5 Pro gameplay reveal. The atmospheric game is slated to release on February 4, 2027, promising tense encounters and the dark survival-horror atmosphere the franchise is known for.

Maneater 2
Maneater 2 was officially announced, bringing back the shark-focused action of the original game. Hunter’s Moon, a first-person historical folk-horror game, will launch on PS5 on October 26.
Additionally, Sony has unveiled the LEGO PlayStation set, offering over 1,900 pieces and a 1:1 recreation of the iconic console.’
Konami displayed two new titles: Rev. NOiR, an anime-inspired RPG, and Rhapsody in Scarlet, a 1920s New York-set adventure.
PlayStation plus and major updates
Mycopunk is joining the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for Extra and Premium subscribers. The PlayStation Classics library will also add Mega Man X Command Mission, Dino Crisis 2 and Ratchet and Clank.
Housemarque’s Saros got a free Zenith update featuring Overlord Rush, New Game+, Eclipse Layers and extra accessibility options.
GTA 6 controllers and Final Fantasy 7 revelation
Sony announced limited-edition GTA 6 DualSense controllers in black and white, featuring official branding and an iridescent finish. Preorders are set to start from September 10, with shipment slated to start from November 19.
The showcase concluded with Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, which is scheduled to release on April 8, 2027. Square Enix showed new gameplay featuring the Highwind airship, the FITS system and several gameplay styles.
