Sara Ali Khan has expressed that people attacking her for religious faith doesn’t bother her because she comes from a secular family, which teaches not to discriminate.
In an interview with Galatta India, the actress was asked about being frequently questioned for her “family tree” and “surname.”
Responding to it, she said, “My religious beliefs, my food choices, how I decide to go to the airport, that’s my decision. And I’ll never apologise for that.”
Sara doesn’t believe in the need to defend something that defines her true core as a human being.
Unless an issue is something so large that other people are left consumed as well, it’s better not to pay heed.
"I was born to a secular family, in a sovereign, secular, democratic republic. So, if I see it happening to not just me, but anybody around me, I will stand up," she explained.
The star however mentioned that she worries when movie goers don’t like her acting because that’s her job as a big screen celebrity.
Opening up further, Sara admitted that she used to have a flippant attitude when it came to facing such problems, but is now sure very of herself, and so has put an end to it.
