Andy Cohen quashes 'inappropriate' rumours surrounding him and John Mayers

Andy Cohen has stepped forward to address the persistent rumours surrounding his relationship with musician John Mayer.

While conversing with The Hollywood Reporter, The Watch What Happens Live host, opened up about the speculations, “Let them speculate! I honestly love John Mayer, and he loves me.”

He continued, “But because we’re so affectionate toward each other, people don’t know what box to put that in.”

The BravoCon Live With Andy Cohen host noted, “They assume we’re sleeping with each other, which we are most definitely not.”

His statement came amid fans' speculation that Cohen and Mayer are romantically linked with each other and they are more than friends.

He also admitted that the two are “in love with each other,” but their bond is purely platonic.

Last year, Cohen was asked by radio personality Howard about his feelings for Mayer on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show.

The Story of Late Night host ignited the speculations by saying, “I am in love with John Mayer. We are in love with each other.”

After his remarks he clarified, pledging on the lives of his children - his four-year-old son Benjamin and nineteen-month-old Lucy - that he and Mayer had never had a sexual relationship.

However in 2018, the rumours were intensified after a video of Mayer serenading him with an acoustic rendition of Diana Ross's It Is My House, as Cohen thanked Mayer with a hug and a peck on the lips which gave fire to the speculations.
