Selena Gomez kept it uncomplicated by making a simple appearance at the Cannes Film Festive on Saturday, May 18.

She checked onto the red carpet in a plain black gown layered with a white off-the-shoulder top that was neatly wrapped around her body like a cupcake.

The long skirt ended just above the singer’s feet, so that her matching black strap sandals came just into view for fashion enthusiasts.

Rocking a toothy smile as a complimentary gift for both candid shots, she accessorized her outfit with a medium-sized necklace that had wings nested in between.

For something to go along with this dazzling piece of jewelry, Selena Gomez had put on a pair of harmonious silver earrings and a number of different rings, as per Us Weekly.

The only two things that weren’t black or white in her look was a red nail polish and a nude lipstick.

Even before, the vocalist has kept it quite modest for the Cannes Film Festival by mostly putting on plain suits, which have usually been picked from a limited color palette.

Fans say this is because the event is more of a professional duty for Selena Gomez than a trendy check in.

Today, on the 77th instalment of the occasion, she attended it for the premiere of her upcoming musical comedy, Emilia Pérez.
