Karan Johar opened up about why he has given up on the idea of getting married!

The Indian filmmaker, who turned 52 on May 25, sat for a candid interview with Firstpost where he was asked if he thinks about marriage.

In response the Ghost Stories director refused, “It’s too late. At 46, I can’t be in a relationship. And I’m not being cynical, I’m being practical. I don’t think I can divide my time between a relationship, and my mom and two kids.”

He continued, “Not that one has to be sacrificed for the other, but I want to divide my time only between the relationships I have with my work.”

“And finally, I can say that I’m in a relationship with myself. And when you are in one of those, you don’t have either the space or the time for anyone else,” Karan explained.

To note, the acclaimed director has seldom discussed his love life publicly. His 2016 directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma , Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan was his most personal film based on the concept of unrequited love.
