White has been a perennial favourite for the summer. Whether it's the image of a Bollywood screen siren dancing in a white sari in the rain or the traditional white chikan kameez that is a favourite in Pakistan, white has always been synonymous with summer wear. There's no reason to shy away from wearing white this season, but why not experiment with it?

Designers have put their mark on white this summer with a twist: Sana and Safinaz contrasted white outfits with a juicy bright orange coloured dupatta in their lawn collection. Sonya Battla had plain white self-prints as part of her lawn collection this summer but it was paired with prints that would offset the washed out look that white often gives; and her summer line features outfits worked entirely in white. White can be worn in a number of ways: as a plain white kurti with jeans as one spotted Sanam Saeed wearing at Cinema Live's opening night, or the white French collar shirt Iraj was seen wearing at a Photospace event, designed by Feeha Jamshed for Teejays. There are great white accessories to be found as well: Charles and Keith has some great oversized bags in white and retailers like Crossroads and Outfitters have shirts, shoes and scarves in white as well. Whether it's an everyday lawn outfit or couture, white is the way to go!
