| If
there's any designer in Pakistan who has a mind for business, it is
Amir Adnan and the way his label is gaining momentum is just an indicator
of where he's headed and how. Adnan recently made a grand debut at
Dubai International Fashion Week, the grand part being that he managed
to convince 94 year old Indian painter M.F. Hussain to walk out in
the finale. It was most definitely a show stopper to write home about.
But while many Pakistani designers are continuously showing all over
the world, Amir Adnan actually has retail presence in Dubai, making
his presence at DIFW all the more significant.He is currently retailing
all his brands - Amir Adnan, AA Women, AA Business, AA Jewellery and
FNKAsia - from 25 stores in Pakistan and Dubai and he has big plans
of reviving the traditional and long forgotten crafts of his country
and presenting them to the world. Even the AV that played during his
show in Dubai run footage of Karachi's Orangi Town, revealing the
400 year old dying tradition to the world. For all this and more that
