Meera
Meera is the Instep hotstepper of the week because we love these pictures
of her thumkas on Trafalgar Square. Before she went on stage she patiently
signed autographs for her fans in the UK. Her latest tribute to Noor
Jahan at the Pakistan Day Parade was power packed. She looked like
pure gold in a yellow lungi and danced in front of 25000 people at
Trafalgar Square like there is no tomorrow. That's one solo performance
that couldn't have been easy, but then again neither has her life. |

Meera
has come along way from the days she moved to Lahore from Sheikhupura.
She stepped into Lollywood and when things didn't seem too bright
here, she didn't think twice before jumping over to Bollywood. She
had stars in her eyes and had the courage to reach out to the sky.
Mahesh Bhatt's Nazar may not have been a super hit, but Meera was.
Her next Bollywood film Simran, will be due for release soon. Meera
lent television a bit of her glamour and it wasn't long before she
became the face of Lux. Her Natalie Wood inspired persona in Ai Zafar's
'Dekha' just proves how versatile she is. She can do the matkas and
jhatkas when dancing to the golden greats of Runa Laila or Naheed
Akhter at the Lux Style Awards and she's equally comfortable in a
pop video. She truly is a hotstepper and she's like none other! |
