Green is usually the colour associated with envy or even evil at worst (Spiderman's nemesis the Green Goblin!) but this time of the year, green means good. It's the time when hopelessly optimistic patriots go green in every possible way that they can. So yes, this is the time to go green and that applies on more than one level. Bring green into your wardrobe and replace the predictable white with a trendier silver or pewter. If you're a jeans and tee kind of person then indulge in the variety of patriotic tees that have hit the markets: from Tapu's Tees to Sublime T, Daku and even Bonanza, tees are the perfect way to go green.
Green is the new IT colour and not just in Pakistan. The IIFAs introduced the 'green carpet' a couple of years ago as an eco-statement and this year Pamela Anderson will be launching her first green collection at New York Fashion Week. Titled Muse, this range of eco and animal friendly swimwear, ready-to-wear and shoes are her gift to the world, as if she hasn't spread enough joy already!
Green is also to be incorporated into your daily make up regime: a bit of eye shadow, maybe evn a green nail colour. No one would indulge in green lipstick unless they wanted to be associated with Poison Ivy. So make green your statement this week, whether that statement is I Love Pakistan or I Am Organic. |
